The Conservative "Party"

As with last year, this will be held at Downing Street, where a large number of people will be crammed into a small room.

Mask wearing is strictly prohibited, and all the "rules" must be strictly adhered to.

We'll draft those after the party so no-one will break them.

All of the food and drink is being provided by Tory Party donors

... and the prize for the most irrelevant reply of the day goes to Curryman, with Lost Seasider and Trammo as close runners up.

I know it's very difficult to defend the indefensible. but can't you come up with something better than that?

It's almost like parroting Johnson's reply in the House yesterday - and did anyone believe him?

Your response reminds me of 2 young children squabbling about nothing, and each blaming the other for something "naughty" they may have done.

Still, Johnson will be stabbed in the back by his Party in the next few weeks, so you'll have to defend someone else then

I wonder when the mill workers, ship builders, steel workers and miners were fighting for improved working conditions and pay they had fellow workers who snivelled to their employers and upper classes to curry favour? Good job our ancestors had more minerals or we would still be agricultural feudal serfs to the likes of Rees Mogg.

And will they be wearing masks at Keir Starmer's Christmas drinks party. Secondly, as Angela (potty mouth) Raynor is not named on the invitation, will she be there? Thirdly will the goodies be paid for by Labour Party donors, either directly or indirectly.

Angela Rayner
Shadow Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.

I like Angela a proper northern girl 👍

Another day another boring as Fuck O/P.

Can't be debated and becomes a mud slinging competition.
There's not really much to debate to be honest. He brought in restrictions last Christmas and didn't follow them. It's really the opposite of leadership imho. I'm immune to his shenanigans though and don't spend too much time raising my blood pressure over him. I think he's a moronic dick and others love him. I'm at peace with that.

yeah can relate to that. Some people love getting worked up though.

Yes to be fair to Boris he has been consistent 👍

Telling porkies etc is normal for him since he was potted from his job as a journalist.

A known quantity 🤡

Do folk not realise this is scraping the barrel it really is!! Who cares, oh and many families got together last Christmas as they were allowed to, some bent the rules, so what!! As regards Christmas last year there were 50 people in my office last Christmas, if we all decided to open a few cans when we finished, again do what!!! It was allowed. as 20s says some people need to have look at their own lifes and maybe join a club to get out more😃

I’m just back from Manchester, I wasn’t going to bother as I just can’t be arsed with it all, but I went to keep the Mrs happy. Anyway as it happened I would say mask wearing was about 70% wearing and 30% not, I only actually got asked to put one on once. I’m pretty confident that most sane people will be having Christmas as it should be, with friends and family and completely mask free.

Just look at your reply for a second or two, and consider how easy you are to wind up. 🤨

I can understand why people get wound up about Johnson. He doesn't do what he tells others to do because he's 'entitled.' that's the way he was brought up and that's how he, innocently, sees himself - born to rule over the plebs.

Those who find that objectionable (Inc. Me), get overheated about the disgrace that he truly is. Those, on here, who support him are not part of his privileged elite but he is happy to take their praise whilst understanding that they are really suckers in the true P T Barnum meaning of the expression.

Life is great thanks. Lots of work, earning decent money and play golf every Friday afternoon, just booked a Christmas holiday.
Why do you consider being critical of things a symptom of being unhappy?
That's good to hear. Here's a thought. Maybe you shouldn't get so uptight over something you've no control over because from your posts you do seem very bitter. And I think it logical to think that some-one who is so critical so often is clearly angry too.

Is it just because you believe he is entitled or is it more that he's just stupid and he doesn't engage his brain before he acts. I'm not convinced that many on here truly support him either. More that they find the incessant abuse and yes that's what it is is a tad over the top.

No 20s, it's not over the top. It's Karma.

Have a good night mate. Ready for tomorrow.

go on then one more point. So what? Some-one is more "entitled" than me? Does it affect how I live my life? Does it fcuk, yet it drives so many on here to outright hatred. Find that rather sad.

No control over? Do we live in North Korea? This mantra you put to me that:
I hate this country, you're bitter and you've no control is actually a distraction tactic for your real views. Like Mirana Hyde said to to the RWNJ Paul Joseph Watson this week "you'd have served the war as a drinks gimp at berchtesgaten"

not sure of your point, never heard of the people you quote or understand the last part of your post either. So all is good then. Have a nice day.

"Not like you to get involved on politics threads because you have absolutely no interest in the subject."

Yet....

My point was not about politics though was it? It was about civil disorder.

Unbelievable! ..talk about lack of credibility.

Oh dear.

Sort of let’s the Cat out of the bag.

And yes. I know it wasn’t a real press conference. It was a rehearsal for press conferences and the questions that might be asked. So some wag decided to ask a question about the party that had taken place a couple of days before. That they’d all been to. Knowing it was in breach of the rules. And knowing there wasn’t an answer and it couldn’t be justified.

This may explain why Number 10 decided not to have press conferences.

Yeah, thing is can any person say they followed the rules to the letter...

I bet not.

However, it's really not a good look to impose rules on the nation and break almost every one themselves.

So the same members of the media who have been baying for lockdowns and mask mandates attended the party and then kept it quiet while the rest of the country were locked down in their homes away from their loved ones - wonderful. I mean most of us know that the restrictions were pure theatre imposed by power hungry psychopaths but watching that video really rams it home. Imagine having the nerve to earnestly ask the PM why he hasn't imposed a nationwide lockdown when you were partying with him the night before. They must have such a laugh at the public lapping up their fear mongering.

Distract as much as you like but all I saw was Rees Mogg. Taking the piss.

I think this along with the prioritising the animals out of Afgan are the two smoking guns that will be the downfall of Johnson. The lying has gone too far and endemic. I truly hope that the tories can get some real top talent back in the cabinet to end this shower of corrupt and incompetent idiots (Patel as home secretary and Dorries are the worst). As an aside Scott Benton was up to his usual nonsense today claiming the human rights act prevented serious offenders from being deported if they owned a pet. It's quite staggering that mainstream politics has descended into grotesque lies, the tories need to move away from being the ukip/brexit party.

Anyway time for a food thread. What’s your favourite party food ? I go for Labour on toast ( North Shropshire by election).😜

I’d go for a shit sandwich delivered by the Tory Party. Who’ll line up Rees Mogg to laugh at you as you pretend to enjoy eating it. With relish.

Two pretty clear, straightforward and now easily provable lies it seems.
I am sure this would have been enough to see off many of his predecessors.
They would have weakened, shown some remorse, and maybe apologised.
Boris won’t. He will bluster, obfuscate, deny, then Trump-like keep moving forward like a shark, no looking back, no hint of embarrassment or self awareness and no doubt he will probably see it all off again, until the next time.
