German scientists have urged Berlin to speed up vaccinations by following the UK’s example in delaying the second dose as German regulators look set to make a U-turn by approving the AstraZeneca jab for over 65s.
There seems to be a repeating pattern here, the UK makes a decision, other countries accuse us of jumping the gun, taking risks etc then a month or two later end up doing the same thing themselves.

The Germans have made themselves looks fools about this, I know weve done things wrong and I still feel we could open up quicker given the amazing vaccine programme, but its nice to see us do something right and not just right but world leading.Germany urged to back AstraZeneca jab for over-65s - BBC News

The vaccine and rollout has been something to be proud of in this country. Germans refusing it has made them look foolish and only set themelselves back. I really hope we fully open before them and we see that gloomy Merkel looking even more dour and under pressure, for their political decison to shun the vaccine and the knock on effects of people now not wanting it in Germany.
