The January 2026 Transfer Window.

We’re going to really struggle with signings. Our best bet is getting young talent from the lower leagues. We’ve gone down the route of tried and tested and look how that’s worked out. The clubs with the best young players from the higher leagues that they want to send out on loan in January will surely want them to the teams in and around the play offs

If we can show them that we play decent football and that their player will actually get played, I think that is more important than our current league position. They'd prefer their player to actually play for us rather than sit on the bench somewhere else.

But the players we should be going for should be the same players that the likes of Stockport,Bolton and Bradford are going in for. Problem is we lie 18th in the league and looking like a nothing season once again.

How do you know we’re not in for the same players that those teams are going for?

If it's a loan deal, then the parent club will mostly be interested in playing time and style. It's clearer to see that new players are likely to come to us and actually play. If it's a permanent deal, then yes, that would be tricky.

Why would a player from a premiership club choose us in 18th place fighting for a mid table finish over a team in the top 6 fighting for promotion?
Money, game time, manager, coaches, training methods, formation, geography - I could go on, but the point is you don’t have a scoobie and you’re just impatient so blaming the club.

There are quite a few sticks to beat the club with, but at this moment in time, this isn’t one of them.

I’m not impatient in the slightest I knew we would struggle to get players in and really worried about the players we will get. And I don’t have a Scoobie 🤣🤣🤣 I have more of clue than them idiots over seeing transfers. Two very average goalkeepers. Michael Ihiekwe who has 2 left feet. George Honeyman that runs around all game but can’t pass the ball forward or to a Blackpool player who by the way is rumoured to be on 8k a week. Jordan brown that is the other teams man of the match every game. Josh bowler who trips over the ball every 2 minutes and Malcolm ebiowei 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. My suggestion is play the kids hopefully stay up and go again next season with staff that know what there doin.

Jesus wept. I thought the schools had gone back.

We need to re recruit players with the same attitude, pride, energy & fight as Villas John McGinn.
Hes not a superstar, but he's a leader, with the heart of a lion & his commitment can never be questioned.

It's the 9th of January, we have until 1900 on the 2nd of February to make signings. Evatt has confirmed funds are available and they are in discussions with players. There really is no panic, quite often the better loan players become available towards the end of the window, when some clubs will have already shot their bolt. I'm confident we will make 3 or 4 signings, the important factor is how good they are, not how early they sign.
Excellent balanced , non knee jerk post .

We need defenders at the minute can't have wing backs playing as centre backs like yesterday
100% we need two athletic wing backs for each side that can get up and down their side of the pitch. It's probably the most vital position in this system. It's also a very high workload so we need options to sub them off and have replacements that can do the job well.

Also need at least 5 capable centre backs in the squad.
