Not this Yates bollox again, people are mad on here yes lets get Mullin in who hardly ever starts for Wigan or Yates the same, F me!
 
We need left side players that can improve us, we look far better going forward on the left when Husband plays, but when he doesn't we look sterile there when you compare it to our right side, all our threat comes down our right hand side, mainly by getting Imray in for goals or assists.
 
We need a left sided centre back and a proper left sided wing back. Finnigan covers the extra midfielder. We also need a striker, a proper number 9. Fletcher and Blocko are running on empty and if either pick up an injury or suspension, we really would be fecked. Evo will have made it clear what is needed and the recruitment team should be well aware they need to act quickly. Ultimately we need the right players though, there is no point bringing in players who won't fit his system or make us better.
 
How about a cheeky bid for Striker Will Davies of Fleetwood Town, one to watch for the future imo. ( scored 3 in the last 4 games).

Disagree with the long contracts to players wrong side of 30,but Downes is not responsible for the injuries which have probably resulted us being 10 plus places lower in the league, and was not responsible for the choice of small squad size.
The 352 that Evo prefers is also not the squad that Downes was tasked to provide.
However I hope Evo is actually allowed to suggest the targets

Downes is not responsible for the injuries, unless a player is injury prone, he is however as SD responsible for looking at why the injuries happen and changing methods if required.

He is also responsible for overseeing continuity in management ie not going for a 3 at the back bloke after a 442 manager. Not that he particularly went for a 442 recruitment strategy with th signings made. I'd argue players have been bought on reputation rather than a plan of what to do with them.

I really think BFC needs a DoF who has had his boots dirty in the game and can work with SS to get some some of continuity path going forward. With a decent club sec/CEO it's the way to go as what we are doing now is just wasting money.
 
Walsall seem to have done well with their loans. I wonder if Daniel Cox (center back, just been recalled by Derby) and Kanu (on loan from Charlton, scored ten goals in 20 appearances) would like to join Finnigan? You'd think that we would have been watching their games closely.

We were told we had a top six budget three seasons ago and two consecutive seasons have now failed before we even hit Autumn; I, for one, wouldn't mind some answers or at least some culpability.

Good player but if he's fit again (I thought he had an op recently for a knee issue?) it will be Stockport. I understand they were going to make a bid for him permanent, their owner likes him and he likes them, so can't see us getting a foot in that door.
 
Alledgedlly funds are available to Evo,so why haven’t we signed anyone yet.
Looks like it will be another case,whereas,we get what’s left on the shelf,with the club reporting these players have turned down other clubs to come and play for Blackpool.

Every other club doing business. Barnsley have just signed a cb o Connell from Wrexham. I’m convinced downes is the problem. His whole job is to find players and he has had 4 months to find some and he couldnt?

Left siders much harder to find than right. It's no coincidence that Imray, Offiah, Sterling, et al all right wing backs. Left WB, just like quality LCB are much more like hens teeth and worth their weight in gold.

Agreed, but I'd rather push the boat out there and overpay slightly knowing it'll improve our balance and structure than get a striker when Ennis isn't far off? Seems a waste of a squad number imo. Unless we can offload some players without losing too much of our initial outlay.

They also have to be the right ones. I don’t know if you listened to Evatt’s post match interview after Bradford, but he’s already said there’s no point in recruiting for the sake of it, they have to be players who genuinely improve us.

Any criticism aimed at Downes six days into the window is baffling, especially after the summer we had when everyone was praising our recruitment.

How do you know he and Ian Evatt haven't already identified targets and that we’re not in the process of getting deals done?

Who’s praised our recruitment? 2 average keepers. Ihiekwe well past it. Ebiowei weird signing got rid after a month. George Honeyman big wages just runs around like a headless chicken. Jordan brown either passes backwards or to one of there players. Josh bowler weak as piss has done nothing in the game since he left us.

How do you know that Downes and Evo haven't been on the case since December and just need a few i's dotting and t's crossing?
We could be a day away from signing 3 new players, we could see the next 3 weeks and not sign anyone.
I would certainly think it wouldn't be for the want of trying to get new signings into Bloomfield Rd.
Try and have a little patience 👍🏻
