The reality of Reform being in positions of power

The reality of having to scrape the barrel and find some random councillor to have a pop at.
Dear me im sure there are plenty of labour councillors out there that can’t even get themselves dressed in the morning !!
He's a low level councilor clearly a bit nervous in front of cameras, doesn't even mean hes no good. There's plenty of good behind the scenes people who aren't front facing.

Now imagine if he's an mp and the treasury minister, that's a different level you expect obviously.

Exactly that lady should be nowhere near our Government, she is a national embarrassment, but yep the left leaning amongst us conveniently ignore.

Is it any wonder Reform are doing so well in the Polls when you've idiotic shite like this being sent out on social media.

Without realising it the Left are doing the job of making Reform even more popular.
Tbh I'd rather have a normal honest bloke who isn't media trained but wants to step up and prove himself in the role than some slippery tosser in it for themselves, avoiding questions.

Joseph Boam, 22, now heads up adult social care at Leicestershire County Council (LCC), and Charles Pugsley, 19, who is still at university, has been made cabinet member for children and family services.

The pair were appointed following the local elections in May, and are responsible for £200 million of a £240 million pound budget.

I’d wager a bit on Reform winning the next GE. Their support will be increasing at the same rate Labours’ is decreasing.
I don’t think they have a viable economic strategy as yet, but I can totally understand why they may win the GE. I will be abstaining from voting as it stands, but if illegal immigration carries on the way it is I may surprise myself on polling day.

The most amusing thing is that these two kids who probably still live with mum and dad, both beat established Labour and Tory councillors.

Kind of shows where we are at right now.

I cannot even fathom the utter car crash that will happen.

But if that is what the people vote for, that's what they will get.

Time to get on board, the only party with a vision to reverse where we're heading, the will to do what's necessary.

They're building a team and policy suite, yes there will be growing pains inevitably as they've transitioned from a tiny part to much larger, but so what. You’re going to get some mistakes from more normal people and not the political clones who may talk well but never answer questions and lie through their teeth.

One things for sure, voting for the same 2 tired parties when nothing ever really fundamentally changes and expecting change is madness.

Never would I vote reform. Your post Lala is exactly how I’m feeling at this moment.
Crazy.

At the last General Election I spoilt my ballot paper by writing on it "none of you deserve my vote". It was the first time I had not voted for one candidate, but all politicians are awful currently.
In the local county and mayor elections I didn't even do that. I knew a couple of the candidates and they were awful. The others were parachuted into the local area and knew nothing of the local issues. Very disappointing and depressing how the the standard of politicians has declined over the last 25 years.
I must admit that, if I was still working at the county council, I would be having some fun with the latest batch of councillors - they are not the sharpest tools in the toolbox and have little idea of how to run an organisation.

Labour will probably win the next election if it sorts out immigration and can make the economy grow and the NHS better. The party in power

have the advantage as they can do things rather than talk about it.

Well so far they're doing things that people will struggle to forget and with the economy on the brink, the rich leaving in record numbers etc it could be about to get worse.

As with all governments, it is not now that matters, it is the state of play when the election is called. Thatcher had a terrible start in her first term.
But she got re-elected because of the Falklands. It is at least 3 years to the next election, and the situation may be different both here
with the economy and immigration, but also overseas with Ukraine and the Middle East.

Its a long time, however it's difficult to shake a bad image. They dint seem to be prepared to do the things needed to stop thr boats or get growth etc.

Plus imagine if they imploded...

I agree, however I don’t think they are prepared to be radical enough to sort out immigration.
I think I read that 40% of people who voted for Labour at the last GE reported their top concern as being immigration. Labour promised to smash the gangs, and if they don’t manage that their majority will disappear

Not very patriotic is it? Cutting and running.

Fuck em.
You can either adapt to the world situation and set policy to make then stay, keeping money, jobs etc here or you can adopt the labour or LW view and say fck em, let them go, completely misunderstanding how our society works, if the wealthy leave we have to pick up more of the slack.

You've gone woth option 2. Quelle surprise.

The wealthy pay proportionately less than the poor.

They move their money abroad so its not working for the country.

Poorer people spend what they have locally, boosting the economy.

So reading this thread.

All anyone has to do is reduce immigration by an acceptable amount and stop all the people flooding this country with illegal refugees (sorry wrong word) economic migrants….Yes?

I’m 100% up for that….makes sense

BUT…..I 100% doubt that Reform has the abilities to do anything else right when it comes to running the UK because Farage is in league with rich people who pay him what to think and he has his tongue firmly planted into Donald Trumps anus and wants you to turn into mumbling MAGA morons

I’d even have the Tories back quicker than giving that idiot the slight chance of any power.

Reform losing more councillors......This seems to becoming quite normal?
The 18 year old who's now taking over running the whole of Warwickshire Council, didn't speak to the BBC
His mum said it was his Pokémon night and it would be way past his bed time when he got back...
At least he will be out of School by the time there's a General Election

Proportionately??

I thinks that's the problem you have every time this topic comes up

Proportionately means fcuk all when discussing finance unless of course you can break down what you mean as you aren't making any sense

What someone stepped down due to health reasons?

All parties have had people stand down for a variety of reasons.

As for the lad if hes good enough hes old enough...

Don't the left want votes for 16 year olds, this lads 2 years older and must have been made deputy for a reason, maybe hes very smart?

Also if you read the article...

'George Finch, his deputy, is to serve as interim leader until a new council leader has been chosen, with the teenager not ruling out running for the top job permanently.'

Stepping down for his mental health.

FFS

I thought it was the lefties who were snowflakes?

Time and time again, there's clear evidence that the stuff you post is either flat-out wrong or so heavily skewed in favour of Reform, it might as well have a picture of Nigel Farage stamped on it.

Now you're saying: "Prove it. All I've found says no info released... If you made it up, just say so."

How about applying that same standard to your own posts?
Maybe try and question the sources you blindly parrot before expecting everyone else to jump through hoops.
A link to GB News or some half-baked X post isn’t “proof” — it’s just right wing propaganda dressed up as facts.
