The Robbie Whitaker interview

Not Jello Biafra or Malcolm Owen I know but still of interest to some.

Please leave a comment on the JSNTGM site if u can.

BTW if u like the look and feel of my website one of my pals made it for a really low price - Blackpool Mates Rates - he’s looking for more web work so I can hook u up if u want ?

anyhow ....

I tend to avoid this site these days because of Einstein’s words ... which I will no doubt mis-quote ‘don’t surround yourself with negative people as they will have a problem for every solution’.

TBH if you have an issue with someone why don’t u be that brave person you dream of being and pick up the phone and have a word - even better and even more so why not say it face to face (socially distanced of course) ... and if you dare to take some of those brave pills 💊to awaken that latent football hooligan that’s been hiding in your soul since you first saw a fight at a football match and you REALLY fancy a DING DONG DO ..... get ‘your lads on t’perk’ 🤣🤣🤣

...... but seriously though .... if u can be anything be KIND and maybe be thankful for what we have. Oystonism is no more.

All arguments can be solved in 3 chords or less over a few beers at The Armfield Club when we re-open.

Yes the New Jerusalem on the hill being built by loving members of the WWC.

come on you know .....

SEA SEA SEA-SIDERS 🧡👊🧡👊🧡👊

Great interview. Well done both.

On a separate note, where the fuck is Ghostie? I’m starting to worry for him and concerned that in this PC world he will be BAMEd!

Thank you both, a good insight into pomposity and how it develops and flourishes.

I could see Sir Humphrey in there somewhere

For an interview with someone I basically know as an internet avatar about a job i'm not interested in, I thought you did a brilliant job and bizarrely I found it really enjoyable. Loved the questioning, it was very impish and though I know wor Robbie winds up some people, I've always enjoyed his way with words (and to be fair, he's capable of his own impishness)

It was like reading an OK magazine article on someone famous and finding out more about them 😀

Brilliant. Well done. A fascinating incite.

Robbie - you will from now on be referred to as The Angel of Death!

I had Birmingham in mind, really. Neither of you seemed to be feeling any pain on that particular evening. I know, I had the company of the Greater Speckled Uncle Albert all the way back to Watford on the way home.

Oh yeah i would like to say i remember it well 😉

Yeovil on the other hand was probably the opposite as you drunk your considerable body weight on Rocking Rudolfph

I actually heard a rumour that you even missed breakfast

Oh to be drinking at an away game now

That was a cruel and false rumour. I was that early to breakfast that they hadn't quite opened the dining room. Not that I was feeling very well ; I think that is the drunkest I've ever been at a match. Good times.

A great read that, well done all!!! Robbie and I have untold thousands of miles of joint travel under our belts, and we never talked about any of that stuff, or not much of it anyways!!! I had probably passed out if we had started to chat on the way back from Blackpool, as he drank his own weight in cans of Bodds...... Great days though, I treasure the memories!

I suspected life in the civil service was dull but until you delve into the details you don’t quite realise just how life crushingly dull it is. At least Basil got out early!

He’s doing great thx son and sends his spectral greeting to you and the sisterhood in LW 🧡

Here you go TD53 - Jello Biafra live from the garage at Rox Towers - https://jsntgm.com/update-february-2013/ 👍🧡
WOW! I thought I was a star fucker when I spoke to our very own Mr Robb for my humble tome but that's cast iron *amazing*. Gonna pour over that for a bit now.

Just because, you can never hear this track (or Jello in general) enough..

Cheers boss!

"I wouldn't have to look at homeless people on the way to the yogurt stand anymore..."

That's a really good read and sums up the Iconic One nicely. Like KKS, I've spent many an hour talking shit about sport and things with Robbie and knew very little about his "other side". Good stuff.

Thx all for your feedback - thx to Robbie for his time - is there anybody else out there in the BFC family might be a suitable candidate for an interview .... I did an interview w Steve Rowland in an old issue of Blackpool Rox I could re-post ....

Really enjoyed this. One of the things I most like about Jello is his outlook and he's so refreshing and energising to listen to. Loved that there's a Ceramic Hobs poster behind him as well! (Also got a Leatherface one in there)

There's a great diagram on the third Godspeed you black emperor album with all the links between major labels and weapons manufacturers which is very eye opening around what he's saying about it and the way 'rebellious anti corporate stuff' gets coopted by 'the machine' and all that and why independence isn't just some pose.

Thanks for making this! Brilliant. Dunno why I missed it when you must have posted in years back.

🧡👏🧡

I also have a John Robb interview from Blackpool Rox II too - which I could recycle if anybody is interested ? 🤷‍♂️
I am. Love listening to wor John. Great bloke. All the time in the world for him. His YouTube has kept me sane in lockdown.

Really enjoyed that, thanks to both.

Now I understand your Just say no to Gove, always thought you hated Michael!!!!

A very interesting and informative read.
In all the years that I have known Robbie I never actually knew what he did for a living.
I first met Robbie, I think, at my daughters 21st in 1977. He was a friend of my son-in-law.
We were living in Bedfordshire then and because of my working most week-ends I didn't get to many games.
Since then we have met at football and BST meetings many times.
I would call him a friend.
Hope to see you this year, sometime Robbie.

When I first met you Dave I was a sixth former. 😀

Keep well, I hope to see you soon too.

I’m surprised you can remember anything about it 😳😂
