The squad

Still some ins and outs to go. Maybe another wideman, attacking mid and a striker plus poss another CB oh and 3rd choice keeper and we are looking in good shape. I don’t want much !

The way the squad is shaping up makes me believe we could be real a force this coming season.

Let’s keep a hold of Jezza and we could walk this league.

Still need strengthening up front. And have we seen any of James, Trybull or Lavery at training?

Excluding the keepers and development squad that makes 21, unless some leave. I think the squad limit is 22?

For me now the question now is who else do we release or send out on loan to open up more spaces. I think Casey, Tharme, Thompson and maybe even Dale and Beesley could leave. Just hope we don’t loose our best players like Jerry and Lyon’s. Could be time for a few quid on our promotion chances.

After one league game we have a clearer idea how the squad is looking. Wing back issues and Lyons and Trybull not playing.

22 outfield players means 2 per position plus 2.

6 CB Marv Penn Casey Hubby Conn Tharm
4 WB Lyons Gab Thom
6 MID Norb Doug Morg Carey Virt Tryb
4 ST Lav Bees Jos
+2 Dale CJ

Need: 1 WB and 1 ST

Might:
Need to replace Lyons/Trybull/Virtue
Replace Tharme with a LCB
Want to replace Dale.

Sounds like Lyons is staying and Trybull is likely to leave. So

Need: 1 WB 1 DM 1 ST
If Virtue goes would need another mid
Possibly replace Tharme with a LCB ?
Will Dale be farmed out?

I've heard the same thing, from a couple of people, today, Accrington have enquired about him. They have a couple of kids on loan from Norwich, but one's more a FB, so they're short at both CB and FB, and they are interested in taking him back permanently, I think this might happen.

Also, and this seems more like speculation, they're supposed to have enquired about both Moore (and yes, he is on loan at Crawley), and Lankshear on loan, apparently they both impressed in the reserve league games last season, but if that does happen it's likely to be towards the end of the window, and will depend upon other moves.

Chorley??

Accrington would be a great move for both Moore and Lankshear if true, and being as high as League Two might just set them up for a first team career at Blackpool?

I can see the interest with Tharme, Critch would like a left sided CB in his place I'm sure, and maybe Lankshear. Great experience for him. But can't see Moore changing direction given the Chorley move. I'm sure he could handle L2 though.

This is third/fourth hand and more, so I wouldn't expect anything to come of it, probably more a "what if" approach, if they can't land other targets, and it'd be one at most, but they've both been talked about as being "in the frame" at BFC, and good enough for L2 so it's not implausible.

The Tharme rumour, on the other hand, I think is much more likely.

I can see 21 decent players in that list which can only be a good thing. Swapping 7 players last night and bringing on additional squad players really bored well.

It's early days but every player has had some pitch time in the first two games, apart from Gabriel obviously. And the signs are good, everyone has looked ccapable of coming in and doing a job in L1. Casey got very good reviews last night, and Tharme can handle this level too. Thompson played a full 90, Dale looks committed, mobile and lively at least. Beesley has surpassed most people's expectations and should improve with more game time. Joseph will make us more potent with more pitch time. 3 good L1 strikers I think. The main issue seems to be the wing back positions, in my mind.

Critch keeps saying we need to strengthen in a couple of areas. What do we now think they are? Another striker and a left wing back?

LCB, AM, winger. LWB possibly but when Gabriel is fit l would play Lyons there with Thompson as cover.
