The summer transfer rumours thread.

So you'd class Newcastle, Sunderland and the two Sheffield clubs as bigger?
Don't be so naive.
It wasn't a lifetime ago when Forest won the European cup. Are Villa not a big team either?
How do you reach these lucrative conclusions?

Sheffield utd, weds, Sunderland are all a similar size. No matter what Sunderland fans say they were never a big club. Much like Burnley are not a big club. Neither are Wigan. They've all done well with little funding.

Newcastle and villa are both big clubs, able to spend large amounts on transfer fees with more of a national and potential global following, and far longer in the Premier league (not talking about division one as there was sod all money about in them days).

Forest once upon a time were a big club. But not any more. Bigger than us, yes. But then half of league 1 is probably bigger than us, and all of the championship certainly is.

Damn predictive text 🤦‍♂️

The past doesn’t mean anything now, but trophies last forever and are the whole purpose of the game.

The European Cup is the pinnacle and for that reason, if you’ve won it you are a ‘big club’ and remain one regardless.

All of the championship certainly is?

What absolute nonense yet again.

Perhaps I do now yes. Interesting though that you have completely dropped your previous argument in place of something totally petty 😀
I actually stand by my original argument and maybe it was a little left field for you to understand that the word you should have used in your argument highlighted how ludicrous yours was in the first place.
Welcome to the board newby 👍🏻

All of the Championship ??? ..

Barnsley
Millwall
Luton
Swansea
Bristol City
Coventry
Fulham
Bournemouth
Peterborough

NONE of these are bigger than Blackpool...
I’d also argue that Blackburn aren’t either. Jack Walkers massive investment vastly distorted their status for for about 15 years.
