The summer transfer rumours thread.

They could be taking a back seat I suppose whilst the Euros are on but I still think that this has stalled pending medical clearance.

Noilly Prat in talks. Veteran striker 34, scored 15 last season in Ligue 2 for Stade Grenouillesjambes.

There could be a problem then that needs further investigation before committing.
It could also be that Critch was away from the club last week, so as with all new signings they need his comments for the press/Internet announcements etc and will get these/announxe the signings when he returns next week.

Josh Bowler will be the next in.

I'll be very happy if we get this one over the line..he looks a great prospect.
Wasn't the delay due to him being away in Portugal last week or was that someone else?

That was the Leeds defender Casey.

Some interesting names on this list. It takes a bit of work navigating through it with all the ads.
Sorry if it has been posted already.
It does in fact have the quiz at the end of it which I know has been on here.

Saw that earlier. Key point for me is that we got Ballard and Simms in league one, and when Critch was new to the job and unproven. Imagine who we might get now. Should be up for the cream of the Prem loans.

Interesting with where we're up to with Bowler because wasn't a medical rumoured to be taking place last week? Also, doesn't it go to show the money swilling round in the Prem when Everton signed him from QPR for a fee rising to £4.25m in 2017. Imagine any other club releasing a player who they had spent that amount on! Quite surprised Hull haven't gone back in for him?

The reports of a medical weren’t from the most reputable of sources … and even they only said a medical had been arranged, didn’t say when … he could be away on holiday like the Leeds lad, for all we know.

… or he might’ve failed it …

Looked at the Hull forum and they didn't seem to rate him very highly.

We should look at Kyle Edwards. Young winger released by West Brom.

Played a few premier league games and I think he scored against us earlier this year?

I think our priorities are a right back and a right wing back, a creative midfielder and another striker. Maybe another super skilful winger.

The core of the team is already there so it is just picking off those few diamonds along with 2 or 3 great loans. What a refreshing place to be after the previous decades.

I feel an auction coming on.
If the club give any sort of inclination they will listen to offers then the offers/auction will come in. Then is a sellers market, Jerry is under contract for 3 more years, is a proven prolific league 2 and 1 scorer, is more than just a goal scorer with his work rate and skill. Both he and BFC could do very well if any sort of auction kicks in.

Another Jerry suitor.
If it came from The Sun and if I were an WBA fan which thank god I’m not, then I would take this transfer rumour with a pinch of salt as The Sun are notorious for being unreliable and they get a lot of these rumours wrong

Alex Gilead again.
Really no point in signing him since he's a RM and we already have CJ and Demi.

I honestly think that a lot of the lack of transfer news this week has been down to the fact that we're

1) Ironing out personal terms with a lot of players (especially since July 1st hasn't hit yet when a lot of player contracts at other clubs will expire), many of whom are still on holiday.

2) Doing a lot of negotiating with clubs for player fees (i.e. Embo and Sunderland).

I'm honestly quite glad that things have been this quiet with no leaks, let the club work it's magic and be patient.

Good things come to those that wait.

This is basically a recycling of a previous, fairly vague, link

Great addition if it happens but I can’t see him lasting a full 90 minutes, impact sub at championship level, can’t think of a better player to bring on if we’re 2-0 down with 5 minutes left

It's so good that we're talking about a "lack of transfer news in june" as opposed to starting the season with trialists!

I'm confident we'll have a formidable lineup come the start of the season.
