The Summer Transfer - Thread Part 1.

I can't see us signing Ihiekwe now we have Horsfall, would give us 3 right footed central defenders. Imagine we will go for a lefty instead now

I wouldn't be surprised if the club are preparing to lose Casey. I am pretty sure they would want to sell for a healthy profit before contract runs down.
This is a very good point. Other clubs will be interested so if we get a good offer that could help fund recruitment then it’s a no brainer

A tweet from a Terrier at 2.24am

“Didn’t rate horsfall anyway- he’s only had one good season.

So many CBs on frees available that are better;

O’Connor
Ihiekwe

Then there’s young folk like Bradley at Wycombe. All those 3 are head and shoulders better than Horsfall.”

If Ihiekwe is imminent today, they are going to go into full on meltdown mode
Some bitter Terriers today.

If they hadn’t bottled their season they would be in the championship so only got themselves to blame 😬

If Joseph left for 2.5 is simply has to be close to 3 million for Casey for his age and everything that comes with it. He’s our best player by a country mile and imo is better than both these new centre backs. We have to keep him

If we are in the market for an experienced centre back , I would be looking at Michael Ihiekwe who has been released by the Massive . Not the fastest but a very good and hard defender and a little younger than Hanley . From Liverpool so within driving distance. Just an opinion not ITK.
Seeing as I am on prediction form , I am confirming that Freddie Woodman and Jordan Thomas are decent players although the former might need PNE tats checking :)

Some good signings, but I do hope that we haven't abandoned the young promising signings. They can really come good and are a way for the club to be sustainable by selling them on later for a big profit. I hope we see a couple of these coming in next.
I think it’s a case of building an experienced spine through the team first and then going from there in terms of signings with future potential

You need a good mix of youth and experience. I like we’re signing experienced centre backs. Pace will be an issue but Ihiekwe and Horsfall both 6’3, Casey is 6,2.

Land of the giants physical back 4 is 100% the way to go in this league

I agree. Some experienced pros can help those with potential through games. I just hope we see some players that we can develop also come in.

It's also worth noting it's easier (and cheaper) to get the stoppers in than it is the guys who score, create and ultimately get you promoted. We don't have goals in the squad at the moment bar Fletcher, who himself has only produced for a few months in his whole career up to now.

Great start. Lots to do.
