The Summer Transfer - Thread Part 1.

I wonder if the plan this season is to assemble a team capable of getting promotion...STOP LAUGHING....rather than, RATHER THAN buy young to sell on.

Speculation I know but it makes sense if the Club was to be offloaded sooner rather than later.

I’d like to think it’s both. Critchley did also bring in experience (Evan’s, Fletcher, keeping Hubby about) but definately favoured a larger squad of young(er) players. Bruce is probably looking at our squad and thinking there is actually a lot of talent in there (Bloxham, Apter, Morgan, Carey, Lyon’s etc) that needs some supplementing through some experience, particularly at the back.

Experience is also more likely to come through free agents. If we’re going to spend a fee on players, it is surely more likely to be ones we’d be looking at developing for resale potential later down the line.

True. Early days in the window as yet and not all signings are done in priority order.

I actually think we’ve looked at the league, realised this is the best chance we’ve had of going up in a couple of years and we’re throwing the kitchen sink at it. Either way if it means bringing in similar quality as we have done already it’s good for us

Will Collar has turned down a contract with Stockport county. Goalscoring midfielder, agro little swine, constantly niggling the opposition and moaning at the ref, but a decent player. I hate him but wouldn't be a bad signing!

so that’s horsfield and Collar turning down their contract offer at County !!

I'm working on the Tyrer story and might?? just get some insider info.
I've got to use a carrier pigeon however to protect my source and I'm 5000 miles away.
I'm hearing that Tyler is still in Everton's plans so is unlikely to join us on a permanent deal. This information has been given in good faith but isn't cast iron and things could still change.
It doesn't of course rule out another loan.

Would make sense given their goalkeeper position at the moment.

Matthew Apter, Rob's younger brother, is out of contract at Everton and is awaiting on news of whether they still want him.
Don't know anything about him unfortunately. The only time I've seen him was when he was watching Rob.
Released

Will Collar has turned down a contract with Stockport. Central midfielder with 10+ goals in his last 3 seasons, 28 years old.

Wonder if we've enquired?

Nixon saying we are interested in 31yr old, Murray Wallace, following his release by Millwall. Yet another centre back who has been at The Den for the last 7 seasons.
