The training ground

Me neither only from looking on maps, but they'll be mostly planted, as they follow paths etc and fit with the design, although there's some already. There is some round the ponds and the dividing line of trees or hedges are already there you can see on the map as the thick green lines.

But have a look on Google maps

Sadler doesn’t hang about…live webcam set up already. Land decontamination underway.

Hope we build something of quality as the rest of the town hasn't anything and show the council up. how it's done properly.

isn't there a road in from Normoss up the road from Seniors
There is a road of sorts that used to lead to Fylde Farm and I think now leads to the new houses. The entrance is half way between Seniors and Highcross and would be the most logical choice. Depends on whether it’s adopted or private I suppose and whether there are any ransom strips between the end of the road and where the training ground would start.

It certainly would I am a licensed drone pilot it was me that flew the drone to film the flags and the We Are The Seasiders Banner in the video below but I'm meeting myself coming back filming everything we do I don't think I could commit to it at the moment

That rust on the stand just shows what the stains were and they had no shame whatsoever.
Thank you for everything so far Mr Simon Sadler(Lord).

Don’t want to be a whinger but think it’d have been better with restaurants cafes etc etc with artificial pitches rented out to junior clubs etc. Poolfoot is always rammed until 10 at night but hey ho still grateful for everything SS has done.
I may be wrong, but I think that is what is happening behind the East stand in the new redevelopment, Central Drive etc., That makes sense and keep the Garstang Road site purely for the football club.

With Play Football shutting down ,this location is perfect for easy access from Poulton ,Cleveleys ,Blackpool and the M55 . Play Football was very popular I thought and with more and better facilities I think the new training ground will be perfect . The only problem is will this area be under water as predicted.

If water iz an issue in the area, I think spending many millions they wooder factored in facking drainage, silly boy.

Should be an interesting drive in for the players etc, through the estate.... surprised there's no road from Garstang Road...
Yet* (all that land between Garstang Road and the proposed facility is now club owned - also notice in the press release the use of the word ‘initially’)

Yes I know that, just interesting to go that way I though, when that site was mentioned I thought it would be accessed off Garstang Road.

Anyway heres one, so this is joint council, as its in very small amount in Blackpool or at least bordering.

So who gets the money, its a wider question that relates to other areas too. But if there's a business on a small part or like this do the councils share for eg the council tax money equally?

I know BFC wanted it to be in Blackpool for the fans and also to support the council.

Does the fact that the only road leading to it in from Blackpool affect that?

It would probably be ideal to build an entrance on Garstang rd , when you think of all the heavy construction plant and machinery that will be needed to complete the project, access from a small road on Grange Park would not be acceptable to the residents , and it would kill two birds with one stone . An impressive entrance would set the tone !

Yes, at the moment the main access looks like it’s from the Blackpool side of the boundary
So does that affect it being a joint council income? Is the question, or it it just split 50 50 or split by the amount its on what councils land....?

This is something I mentioned either further up or in another thread. I said the income from rates and other benefits could be a topic of discussion. Most of the TG is in BPL. Wyre starts about 3/4 the way up the green area as it is now, meaning the main money making facilities would be in BPL so how would Wyre react knowing the dev. could only go ahead with their approval- I can imagine that taking time to resolve.

The other aspect was whether there would be any community aspect to this. How would this be split as most facils are in BPL (always were going to be). Would BPL get all the community side, 90-10, 50/50??

I can imagine this was the 'one signature' that was missing (perhaps land purchase towards Baines).

How is it mostly in Blackpool though the boundary ends where the housing ends.

From this almost none is in Blackpool.

Currently: the main access looks like the red line, from Steeton Rd. If the club has purchased the land bordering Garstang Rd West, it’s possible they can create an access into that Road (creating a new access can be more tricky than existing access). Potential new access could be from the orange line options A & B (example only). Obviously any road in/out would run to the main building, taking in all available car parks).

Interesting that on satellite view you can see a couple of pylons to consider, but these seem to be factored into the illustration, e.g. the alignment of the pitch at the bottom.

The public right of way is the blue line and whilst it runs through the TG facility, it misses all the pitches. One potential route onto Garstang Rd West could follow the line of this right of way - e.g. footpath by side of access road. Moving a right of way by a small distance is acceptable in planning terms.

Be interesting to see what they've come up with.

Due to the proximity to 'Play Football' which is currently closed/in administration, is there a deal to be done which will secure a home for the Blackpool FC Community Trust and all the work they do for the youth of this town? There are pitches there for the 5 a side/7a side Seniors/'Walking Football' groups; there are 5/7 a side pitches in place for evening and weekend participation and revenue. There is already a bar in situ for post session relaxation/kids parties etc. and, in addition, a sports hall for hire/use.
Just a thought!

They can't drain global warming . They are saying parts of Blackpool will be under sea water soon.
It's absolute bollocks.

The article in different forms surfaces from time to time and gets reported again and again, have a look at some of the nonsense spouted, 10m underwater....

This guys comment sums it up...

I also covered this at the time with some real predictions of sea level rise by 2100 not coming anywhere near what they claim might happen in just 8 years....

I actually heard months ago (and had completely forgot up until now) that the club had enquired/been approached regarding its interest in taking on some responsibility for the play football site. I believe though that it’s ultimately a matter for the businesses administrators and that they’re looking to secure a deal for a number of sites nationally with another national chain (this therefore rules BFC out for the time being). The club of course are building their own community facilities in Revoe so PlayFootball Blackpool becomes a bit of a moot point…. That being said though, should the PlayFootball site become available independently within a stones throw (quite literally) of the training ground then it would make logistical and business sense to step up the interest once again. I think it’s a watch this space scenario for the time being. I also understand the council have an interest in the land (but PlayFootball have a long term lease which is what’s ultimately up for sale)

Having looked at the building itself a bit more, I think it's bigger than I initially thought too.

It looks massive.

Fleetwoods is about half a pitch long, rectangle.

But looking at the map ours will be even bigger I think.

Begs the question I wonder if they'll put a restaurant, function room /bar in there.

Should certainly be room....

What is the separate grey structure just up from the building?

Also...

What are the square areas with smaller squares in them?

I believe the pitches actually belong to the school. The BFC Community Trust will have use of the patches that will be created adjacent to the stadium…
