That's 15 outfield places and I think Bowler is injured and only an incident away from a serious injury so really 14. Bruce clearly doesn't rate Lyons, Ashworth, Evans or Bloxham so it's a complete mess. All our players are over 21 so we haven't got that back up like we have in the past so we really do just have a squad of 19 outfield players when everyone is fully fit, that's ridiculous, we have completely ignored buying any decent under 21's we have concentrated on older players and I thought Sadler's initial plan was to build a team around younger talent, what happened to that then? Because it went out of the window after Critchley Mk1 and has got further away from that every season and here we are, bottom 4 after 10 games with an ageing squad and a dinosaur manager. WTF is going on inside your head Sadler?
 
Can we get Finnigan back, we'll need another one in midfield when Bruce moves our best midfield player to right back again.
Fletcher is probably due an injury soon and Taylor will be with Northern Ireland so better get Kouassi back too.
Not going very well this season!

Good post mate, but am I the only one who thinks Coulson’s best position is left wing, where he also tracks back and helps out? Ashworth is the only specialist left back fit.
That said, CJ won’t be dropped and should keep the shirt after his last MOTM performance. Let’s just hope it wasn’t his one in 4/5 good games.
 
We’re f**ked for want of a better word. Trimming down the squad and bringing in 17 wingers was not what the doctor ordered.
 
Trying to be positive to finish Friday night off!

It’s definitely threadbare but we can still put out a reasonable starting line up. Lyons and Bowler on the right may leave us a bit exposed at times but if Bowler can keep fit and get through whatever injury he is carrying we pose a threat on that side still. At least Blox can fit in there. From Tues, besides the CJ performance the Brown and Morgan partnership was the bright spot. Got to keep them in midfield. I’m backing CJ to notch again. Nurse, more pills!

So then we just need to hope Fletcher and Taylor can get a partnership going. And Evans and Bloxham get fitter/sharper to strengthen the bench. Fingers crossed no more injuries please.

Listenning to Bruce after Bradford he did hint at a change of formation but I think he meant for away games.

I remember when we got to the Premier League Ian Holloway met Basil members in London for a talk/social evening before Palace away. He talked about the need for a manager to build a squad made of diffferent age groups eg v young players up to the most experienced. Makes sense apart from balàncing the squad to make a team that works well..Really doesnt seem there was a convincing recruitment plan. Bruce doesnt seem to have the knowhow to make it work, despite his experience, or his coaches. Sadler probably doesnt have a plan B. Who advises him anyway ?

I’m afraid I couldn’t disagree more mate. CJ is better than Coulson and he is a terrible left back.
