Fantastic, and Rachel from accounts must be rubbing her hands together.

Downside-im in the Poulton Elk after dropping my granddaughter oyston the hairdresser and as it was six deep at the bar when I wanted my second drink, I ordered from the table. Mistake; after 25 minutes I went to see where my drinks were and was told another five minutes,

After 40 minutes I went back and said I know you’re really busy, but I’m staying here until I get my drinks. Another five minutes and I got them.

Absolutely rammed, who said there’s a cost of living crisis.

Yep, same in FY2. We thought fire initially, then realised it was wet, and so was my washing 😳
Never seen it before that I can recollect.

The best sea mist I've seen was in Dunoon, rolled in out of nowhere like something out of a sci fi film, couldn't see your hand in front of you. We were trying to get back home quickly and one of the ferry providers to Greenock immediately cancelled due to health and safety whereas the other just shrugged and said 'its fine unless someone moved the land as well'.

Halfway across it lifted to reveal the Arrochar Alps in glorious sunshine, weird the stuff that lingers in your mind.

Just had a little break in a cottage in North Yorkshire, we popped into Skipton on Monday and by early afternoon it was absolutely rammed, all the pubs and cafes were heaving, so people are still spending, you still have to enjoy yourself or what’s the point?

Skipton has been voted the happiest place to live in the UK recently.
Whereabouts was your cottage ?
Apologies for nosiness, I love Yorkshire, Moors and Dales. Me and my girls have a weekend in Masham in a cottage early September.

We had about 6 hours of thunder yesterday afternoon/ evening, only one brief rain shower. Mind you, some shower, place flooded in 5 minutes flat, had to go into the pub to stay dry!

it was in Lothersdale, about a 10 min drive from Skipton, really nice, going again in October!

Just googled, that looks pretty and peaceful, and then with Skipton so close for an amble and a coffee, or whatever refreshment takes your fancy ☕🍻🍷

Excellent, enjoy your next stay. Life is for living 👌

Yeah it was a farm house in the middle of nowhere, the lack of light pollution really hits home when you are out of a town or city, the stars really shine and the silence is deafening, but so relaxing

Sounds amazing.
We had a cottage on the moors not too long ago. I could have star gazed literally all night, it was a sight to behold. In the dead of the night, star gazing in the garden with a nice cup of tea, what is not to like. Some of life’s best moments cost virtually nothing at all.

Moral of the story. Go to the bar always.

Driving past Revoe park on Thursday afternoon I noticed a man alone sitting cross legged on the grass. He looked to be meditating or in some relaxed deep thought anyway. Wrapped up with beanie hat on presumed he was a rough sleeper or something. I concentrated on what he was doing though for a brief moment

Anyway just came on the news tonight a big branch snapped off last night crushed a tent on Revoe park and a rough sleeper male in his 40s pronounced dead.

Currently in Hebden Bridge. Very mild.
done Hebden Bridge 3 times this year on the train for a day out and a walk along the canal, both ways. Lovely place with some great pubs.

Didn't realise it was known as the lesbian capital of the UK until our second visit and when you start to observe people you realise why.

Why? What were they doing?

just drinking in the pubs like everyone else and getting on with their lives.
This is interesting, how did you know they were lesbians, their hair, clothes, tattoos, were they drinking pints, holding hands, kissing? I’m not having a go btw, just interested.

yep, hair clothes, pints, sat in pairs etc. Like i said we didn't notice first time but it was only when a lesbian friend of ours told us that we noticed.

It was an observation after being told, that's all. I dare say it's not really something many people would know either.
