Those who wanted rid of Critchley

I hope those who wanted shut of Critchley and didn't think we could afford to take the time to allow him to bed in a completely new squad of players are eating their words.

There have been signs in every match this season (Ipswich aside) that we are head and shoulders better than we were last season (results can be deceiving), IMO we've been the better side in 90% of our matches this season without getting just rewards.

Portsmouth hadn't lost away from home all season and are the leading scorers in the division and we nullified them the whole match, maybe Husband's missed header at the end could have cost us on another day but it would have been so harsh.

Critchley came in and wanted to play 1 up top from the outset, we dominated games without getting results, people thought 1 up top wouldn't work at this level. Well last night proved that our manager can swap systems to suit who we are against and not only limit their chances, but create our own and play them off the park.

I hope that if we do suffer another poor defeat again similar to the Ipswich match then fans can still see the bigger picture and see where this club is going, it's exciting times!!!

We are only heading in one direction and that is onwards and upwards.
