Time to rebuild says Critch

Effectively says it’s time to get rid of the players who helped us up first time and start again.

By my reckoning all that’s left is Husband, Hamilton, Gabriel and Ekpiteta.

I can think of quite a few I’d ditch before these four!

He's never let us down, he's played well since coming back from injury.

James Husband isn't our problem. CJ Hamilton is a core problem to this squad.
No he’s not, it’s the spine of the team that’s the problem. I know you don’t like him, but seriously don’t say that a winger is the core problem, it’s not credible.

I’m not saying the new contract was a good thing, but the lad gets plenty and too many threads turn into CJ hatred. It’s best for him to move on, but let’s not lay the blame of this season at his door.

He played the majority of last season. We got relegated.

He's played the majority of this season. We failed to get promoted.

He's absolutely garbage and frankly, I find it hard paying money to watch someone at a professional level that isn't as good as me at football.

Kurt, I added another paragraph. Have your view on him, but don’t blame him for the negativity shown by the manager. There’s more than CJ that played last season and this.

He has been the worst player this season in almost every single game I've watched.

He can't control the ball.
He can't head the ball. He can't pass properly. 99% of his crosses go no where near our players.
He doesn't tackle, albeit not his job but I'm not a fan of people that refuse to ever put a foot in.
He has zero football intelligence.
He very rarely makes any decent runs in behind.
His movement is awful. His defending is also awful.

Whenever he plays it feels like we play with 10 men and that's why I feel he's a major problem.

In the last few games I've seen both Dembele and Pennington have massive pops at him. And they've actually started to not pass him the ball.

Yes starting with the manager. He has lost the fans hasn't he. While being pissed off with the players or a good few on occasions this season, particularly certain individuals, he has been the consistent one.

I think then the core problem is the manager for selecting him. Actually Kurt, for your wellbeing I think CJ should move on 😂

And they also don't think it helps just focus on CJ every week, but when he'd rinsed his player a few times today, then looked like he'd stepped on an ice rink I just thought get Gabriel on now, I think he should have started with Gabriel and if that wasn't working have Hamilton
On when their players might be tiring.
The other thing I noticed is when he hits the byline our players go to the far post to wait for the cross but they should know by now he always hits the first Defender so they'd be better off positioning there.
He has some real qualities but they are not enough to outweigh the negatives.

Really want him to do well but the reality is he’ll give you two or three good games a season like Barnsley and that’s all your getting and as touched on above was poor in the majority of games last season.get rid.

No one is buying him next season. We won’t release him. He will still be in the team next year 100%

I noticed it today in my 13 year olds cup game

The manager gave a few of the fringe players a chance as we were 4.0 up at half time and my lad simply had no confidence to pass to them, he plays centre midfield and generally runs most of the games, second half he kept getting caught on the ball as the forward players and wide lads just weren't making intelligent runs and i actually thought to myself that's what it must be like when your options are Beesley and Hamilton

It finished 4.0 btw

Critchley is going nowhere but I think the following will want to leave or will be released or sold

Grimmy
Gabriel
Connolly
Husband
Ekpiteta
Virtue
Norburn
Hamilton
Lavery

Take away

Coulson
Dembele
Rhodes
Byers

That would leave us with a squad of

O'Donnell
Chapman
Pennington
Casey
Lyons
Morgan
Carey
Apter
Finnigan
Beesley
Joseph
Kouassi

That's a squad of 10 plus 2 keepers.

So from being in the Championship 2 seasons ago to know, this could be the progress under Appleton, McCarthy and Critchley. Phucking hell, if Sadler can't see the warning signs there is no hope!

When you employ the adjective 'played' in your post, SK, did you mean that in the literal sense (i.e. as in: 'participated in sport'), or, as in the synonym, i.e. 'played', meaning to deceive - which, tellingly, rather captures the essence of C... omplete J... oke Hamilton and his on-field 'performances' this season? What I'm most intrigued by, is whether the word choice came about purely by chance, or, as I'm inclined to believe, whether it was, in fact, actually more by design?

Apparently Derby wanted him before he signed his new contract... now they are in a higher division they can afford him.
I think his agent played a blinder for him.

Let’s see if Derby still want him. I’m gonna stick my neck out and say they won’t and if CJ moves a million pound I’ll show my arse in the club show window.

Beesley and Kouassi still under contract. Give me strength

I’d keep Ekpieteta even tho I slagged him first half of season. He’s come half decent again but I think he’ll want to leave.

I’d keep Husband too. Doesn’t do much wrong.

When you look at the squad after the loans have gone back, take the players who are out of contract and probaly wont sign on out and then on top of that could end up potentially losing Gabriel and maybe Grimmy then we have a huge rebuild on our hands. Even a lot of then 10/11 players we will have contracted have had very poor seasons and don't look up to it. We are genuinely going to need 10-15 bodies in over the summer.

Hamilton isn’t leaving neither will Norburn or Grimshaw. Rhodes is coming back and Coulson is keen to stay too.

I hope Rhodes and Coulson do sign but I'm not sure Critchley rates Norburn and Grimmy will go to a Championship team. CJ........ god only knows!

It was very clear at Shrewsbury that Byers, Norburn and others could have easily passed to him and almost purposefully didn’t.
