To the 4,000 going to Wembley: please read (updated)

To the 4,000 Blackpool fans travelling down to the Play-Off Final on Sunday: we all want to have a fantastic day out, to make our half of Wembley a wall of noise and a sea of tangerine and white despite the limited numbers, to hopefully roar the Seasiders on to another record play-off victory.

Wembley being Wembley, and with Covid protocols still in place, there are a few ‘regulations’ that you should be aware of in advance. Therefore, please read this advisory summary so as to avoid needless issues on the day:

Take a mask. You will be required to wear it. Bottled water is advisable as it could be a hot day. Flags, if taken, must be no larger than 2.5 metres. If they have poles these must be 1 metre maximum in length and of wood or plastic, no metal. Bags, if taken, should be small. Use common sense here. The Wembley regs (in common with most stadia) state A4 size! Something in the region of 23cm x 35cm might get through, anything larger probably not. All bags are liable to be searched. Musical instruments are not allowed and obviously pyrotechnics (fireworks, flares, smoke bombs etc) are banned.

*** Wembley just sent an update: programmes will only be on sale outside the stadium. And a reminder that the concessions inside the ground (food, drink but no alcohol) are contactless payment only, no cash. ***

Travel safely, maintain sensible social distancing, do the Club proud. UTMP! 🍊⚽

You say bottled water?, I’ve read through what’s allowed in, and only an empty bottle is allowed into the Stadium, I’m guessing to fill up in there?

You can already tell how on top it’s gonna be (going on about fuckin flag sizes). Wear your mask at all times, don’t stand, don’t sit right next to anyone, not going to sell alcohol.
Just wanna get in there watch us get promoted then fuck off out of there.
Be interesting to see how the Brentford game goes.....

Use common sense here, you could post this twice a day and have BST patrolling wembley way advising people, people will still take flags, drinks and food and argue the toss that they are allowed in.

I remember the West Ham game..at half time everyone was smoking in the bogs and a local cockney guy was trying to sell coke to everyone going in bogs...suppose there’s always that if nowt else...😎

Is this allowed? Some kind of confirmation would help as this is a contradiction of what Wembley are saying on their website.

They say empty plastic bottles <500ml are ok. Wtf anyone would want to take an empty bottle with them is beyond me....unless the tap water in the bogs is drinkable.

Are you allowed to take bottled pop in and sweets like we can at Bloomfield in our small bags? Thanks

As the Supporters Liaiison Officer I wonder if you had noticed that Brentford and Swansea had been allowed a modest increase in ticket allocation. Are the other play off clubs seeking a similar concession?

hope they dont invent a machine that could suck all of the food and drink you've eaten previous to getting to the stadium out of you "HEY. DID YOU EAT A CHIP BUTTY 2 HOURS AGO?. THATS COMING OUT!. trying to absorb nutrition from previously consumed food while sat in wembley!? you're basically guy fawkes "

I wonder if you’ll get an answer from the SLO?

Thanks for passing on the advice. Are the other playoff teams, including the Pool pushing for the extra tickets that Brentford and Swansea have got?

I can't understand why you have put that Steve. The Wembley regulations clearly state Maximum A4 and you cannot even have a larger bag that folds down to A4. (Unless of course you have new information)

@SLO_BFC has made a couple of comments that need backing up regarding what can and cannot be taken in. I hope they are not just his opinion and hope he responds to the requests for clarification.

Who do you need to take in? Your ticket, wallet, phone and keys isn't it? What else do you need?

The increase for Championship Final has been granted as part of an NHS app trial. The League One and Two play-off finals remain restricted to 10,000 spectators regardless of requests made.

10% visual margin for error.
