Todays Jordan Banks Procession

I didn't even know about this procession, until I happened to be on the promenade.

I don't think I have ever seen such a long procession of vehicles, which took 40 minutes to pass by.

An outstanding tribute to the lad.
Very much so 👍
And looking at internet trends today it seems the whole of the Sunday League footballing community has made a tribute in some way, mainly a minutes silence.
My nieces sister in law’s 2 little lads paid tribute at their football practice in Yorkshire yesterday morning ❤️

We mustn’t overlook the little boy who died in a house blast in Heysham.
We definitely must not . Another beautiful young boy taken too soon.
I think the locality of Jordan’s life and death has made it more personal to us, and the footballing community, known for its passionate response, have made it more high profile.
You are absolutely correct though, every death of a child is heartbreaking, and there are really many more of them than we think.
RIP George Hinds 👼

Saw and heard the procession as it moved on past me. Didn't know it was happening but quickly realised what was going on. What a tribute for someone so young so tragically taken away. Really uplifting and hope it helped everyone directly affected in some way. From the gist of it he was no ordinary young man.

And then yes, you hear about the news in Heysham today and it's all just so, so tragic. What can you do. Imagine being in Israel/Gaza. Or anywhere else where there is needless loss or suffering to humanity. F** hell. Life is pot luck. It's why I enjoy whingeing about football.

That’s a really good point about whinging about football.
These tragedies are so heartbreaking, and some will affect us personally more than others, but they are all equally tragic.
When one hits you hard, emotionally, for whatever reason, you have to have distractions. And distractions from pain, are by nature, not painful.
They may seem irrelevant, or shallow, in comparison. But as humans we can’t hold on to a perpetual state of sadness or we go under.
So ye, seemingly irrelevant distractions are what get us through, and we should never be ashamed of that.

My wife and I went to the Promenade to watch yesterdays procession, we were totally stunned by the amount pf people and vehicles that took part and paid their tributes to Jordan Banks, the way the local football community and the town has shown their compassion for JB7 has made me so proud of our community, brilliant effort from everyone involved.

A quick note, if you get chance go down to Common Edge and visit the place where Jordan was struck, we went on Friday morning to lay flowers at the spot and the amount of tributes there left us in tears. #RIPLittleMan. 💔

The minute's silence at kids football on Saturday morning was very emotional. There were tears all round. Heartbreaking.
