Tom Ince...an apology....

Yet not only was it aimed at a great ex-player, it also played on regional stereotyping and as was potentially hurtful to the good (non-stealing) folks of Liverpool….
Why do we need to 'respect former BFC Players' though? I mean when did that come in?

We've pretty much ribbed ex-players for the entirety of my time supporting the Club... I can understand you'd respect them once retired and what have you, but when they are on the opposing team... ?
Matt Phillips who celebrates when his team score against us ?

Did fans call his dad and himself a twunt ?

I missed that chant or maybe there wasn’t one

Yes but that one would be pointless...And his dad didn't manage us into oblivion

At the risk of going over old ground, the Ince one is so delicious, because of how it impacts on the Ince Twins and highlights their collective ridiculousness.

I've no problem with players celebrating goals against us.... Why wouldn't they? it's football...Not some mutual backslapping club... If it's gentlemanly conduct we're looking for then Rugga, Cricket and Golf are all available.

I used to play football against Tom Ince in Portugal and they were a nice family. Therefore I’ll judge my viewpoint on real life; not following the crowd and pretending to be Danny Dyer like a few on here.
So here’s the real reason then 🤣 it wasn’t because it’s a Knobber song or swearing it was all because you played against him.

Maybe you could have tried drowning out the chant with a rendition of “where were you in Portugal?” Just for old times sake.

The real life thing is interesting because as I mentioned I know for a fact that when Ince Snr was in charge My Tom’s attitude changed completely which is of more significance than how he was when the Lisbon Lizards played against the Albufeira Antelopes.

No it’s far more simple than that. It’s a pretty sad and makes us look like twats.

It annoys me when our players don't celebrate scoring against any of their former sides.

They're professionals, not supporters.

Marlon Harewood doing that bollox crossed arms shite at Upton Park after missing a sitter is still not forgiven.

It’s a stupid pathetic thing to do anyway

Just makes the player more determined to score against us

It’s similar to ‘your support is fecking shit ‘ which stirs the opposition fans into action and start supporting their team

Moronic counterproductive chanting

Don’t mind your support is effing shit. Abuse the opposition fans all day long. Issue is former players for me. Pathetic.

There’s giving a returning player a bit of stick and a bit of banter…… nowt wrong with that, but singing what was sung, was a bit cringeworthy to be honest. We’re better than that.

All I will say on this is it was a joy to watch the Women’s football yesterday with no hostilities, the game played in a competitive but amicable way, the fans all mingling and yet our fans have to start using the C word to be amusing and boo a player who was actually decent for us.

Of course it’s too late now to ever change but the toxicity around men’s football has to change at some point (and I actually think we’re generally decent as fans - look at that bald bloke for PNE taking on the police - that’s where the problem starts).

Being serious about it… “Atmosphere” was the one thing that I felt was sadly lacking from the final yesterday.

It had the feel of an Olympic stadium, rather than a Football Stadium, to me and whilst it’s lovely that everyone was getting on, I really don’t think the crowd really reflected the passion, grit and determination of the players.

There was evidently plenty of industrial language from the players, who are real footballers. Hopefully moving forwards they will get some real football crowds… and I don’t mean fighting or offensive or abusive language, but certainly a move away from the weirdness of yesterdays crowd.

Check out this video at 1 minute 33 seconds and see the respect he showed us despite Keogh trying to celebrate with him. Sadly not reciprocated. Sad world we live in.

You didn't lip read what Jill Scott said to one of their players, then?
