Tomorrow - 40th Anniversary

Bastard Nobbers still sing about it.

There was a friendly against Celtic as a fundraiser for the families iirc

I seem to remember the friendly being against Liverpool, remember also Ken walmsley refereed the game, used to see him all the time in the clubs and pubs of cleveleys he went on to make the back and front page headlines a couple of years later for sending off Ian rush !!

I will be attending the memorial service today. Angela and Gordon were members of my shift at the time, fondly known as 'F Troop'. I was 20 and two years into the job. Had a profound affect on me for many years afterwards. Angela was 23 and Gordon 24. No age to lose your life in the line of duty.

I remember it as an 'all stars' v Blackpool match. It may have been Celtic v an 'all stars' Blackpool team. I went and enjoyed it. I was in the scratching shed keeping a close eye on Danny McGrain being brilliant.

Me too around 84/5. Only a couple of years after. Even by the standards of those days that was nasty then.
