Tony (Toe) Johnson, a Blackpool legend 🧡🥲

So sad someone has died after going to a football match it’s made even worse when he’s one of our own.

RIP Tony. 🙏

Burnley fan in peace guys. Awful awful news. I have read the posts on this thread and it appears to be a tragic death that could have been avoided. Why oh why do grown men want to fight each other just because they come from another town and or support a different football team?
It would be excellent if some good could come from this sad event and fans unite and campaign against mindless violence. It’s good to see that many Burnley fans have donated also to Tony’s Just giving page to help his family give him a good send off.
Really sorry for your loss of a supporter guys and condolences to Tony‘s grieving family.
Rest in Peace Tony.

I've not seen anywhere that the Murderer was apprehended.
Was he caught and arrested??
Do you know the definition of murderer?
Disgusting comment, I feel for both families in this situation two families ripped apart by two grown men making a bad decision each resulting in a tragic loss of life.
The government need to take a look at alcohol consumption around football.
As stated elsewhere let's hope this brings football fans together against violence then some good can come of it because there's something horrible creeping back in to the beautiful game

Mate sent me a link to this forum. Preston fans on it acting like complete twats

No respect at all😡

Burton Albion fan here, just needed to send my condolences to the family of Tony at this tragic time.
Been said before I know, but to go out to support your beloved team and never return home to your loved ones should never happen.
Rest in peace Tony, and I'm sure I am speaking on behalf of all Burton Albion fans when passing on condolences to his family.

I’m just an observer of your club, no reason really , and your forum is a really decent read.
I hope I speak on behalf of everyone at Luton Town Football Club when I say that this is such tragic news about Tony Johnson. No one should not come home from a match, it is at the end of day and rivalries aside a game that’s all.
Sincere condolences to his family and friends and may he forever rest in peace.
MH, nice post.
As I worked at Luton Airport in the 1970/80s I went to Kenilworth Rd a few times, especially when Pool were playing.
I have actually Refereed a couple of friendlies there, when my works side booked the ground.
Enjoyed Luton and still have friends there.

OK, at the time I was unaware of the actual altercation facts. Maybe 'murderer ' was OTT, and I withdraw it.
