Top Gear

Haven’t checked the ratings but as far as I’m concerned, presenter wise, this is a dream combination.
Never been an avid watcher before, am tuning in every Sunday now 😍
And I know I’m not alone in making that shift 😌
It does seem as if they're having fun and that comes across well.

No Clarkson so that's all good as far as I'm concerned

It was good with the Clarkson team until they got too big for their boots, I thought it had run it's course but to be fair I've quite enjoyed it with the new line-up who seem to bounce off each other, it's made me laugh quite a few times.

Hadn’t watched it for years since Clarkson etc days until the current trio took over and I am enjoying it, they go well together and have good banter.

They're a good trio but they're just rehashing the same stuff that was done by the Clarkson gang, the BBC needed to change the format instead of keeping Clarkson and Wilman's. There's no originality at all, the challenges, the races, the Dad's cars episode a few weeks ago was just entirely nicked from a Grand Tour episode for example.

They need to give them a new format to work with or whoever presents it will just seem like a covers band.

Ye I think that’s definitely fair comment FY.

I think these 3 are probably lucky they have such likeability factor that you can just about overlook the dated format.

It was totally embarrassing with Matt LeBlanc and Evans ☹️

TVR getting a good advert this week - shame it reminds me of Joffrey's meal ticket but still lovely cars and a bit of West Lancs history 👍

`Top Gear` is possibly one of those programmes that are relevant for only a short time. When my lad was 10-13 years old we used to watch it regularly together (at his behest) as he found the childish japes amusing.

He moved on, and I was glad our `top Gear` time was over.

Of all of the `dads and lads` television we watched, `The Simpsons` is probably the only one that has stood the test of time, and we continue to occasionally watch it together when he visits now.

And, perhaps, `Scooby Doo`...

As much as I acknowledge that this is the best line up since the Clarkson days, I can't take to Paddy McGuinnes as a presenter with his stupid Bolton accent. I've only ever liked him as Paddy in Phoenix Nights. The dads car episode was a direct copy from the Grand Tour. Get some new idea's boys.

You know you're watching old ones on gold right? 🤣🤣

For me Top Gear will always be May, Clarkson, and Hammond but I do appreciate change etc etc blah blah but I'm getting old so allowed to be like this. Clarkson appreciated my favourite vehicles Toyota Surf (hi-lux) and mitsi shogun which for someone who normally liked fast cars I appreciate

I also miss scrap heap challenge with whatshuface Llewellyn and that lass with the most sexy husky voice ever...just the thought of her with a 14mm spanner covered in motor oil makes me quiver

As much as I loved the Clarkson years I have to concur. It was getting tired as all things do. BBC should have totally reformatted it. Us older folk don't like change but some of us do actually realise things should move on and change can be good

I do enjoy reading Jeremy in the Soectator every week especially his trials opening a bank account in France ...incredibly difficult even with a French wife lol. Just a shame he's got cancer. Not nice for anyone

Lisa Rogers or Cathy Rogers?

Any reviews of the new Hyundai Kona Elect... ahh, forgot, Top Gear doesn’t do new car reviews any more, think the last one was the Talbot Samba by William Woodard in 1981!

I love Jeremy, Hammond and May! We regularly watch the show over and over on Dave! Can’t stand any of the new shows.

It's very wooden and scripted with the new trio at times. I do like it though. They just need to let the banter flow some more.

During lockdown I watched all The Grand Tour series and specials on Amazon and a lot of the old stuff. Sorry but for me you cannot beat Clarkson, May and Hammond. They got better with age. Absolutely hilarious at times.

But I do think that if Harris, McGuinness and Freddy stick together they too will make something special. Chris Harris stands out for me. The other two were obviously already famous but he is the glue that makes the new trio stick. And his passion for what he's doing is incredible. I have to say the episode the other week with Dad's old cars left me with a little bit of grit in my eye. It was beautifully put together and left the jokes aside to be a little sentimental for a while. Loved it and the fact it was shot in Lakeland where my own dad would take us on a Sunday run out in the car as nippers regularly in his prized Nissan Sunny.
