Anyone else see the literally hundred or so, Travellers in harness with horses come up Common edge Rd, & onto Squires Gate Rd, ignoring the traffic lights, taking both lanes, racing & causing traffic chaos around 6pm tonight?

Piled through the traffic lights without stopping, Plod was driving past in a large van, ignored them & carried on back to Plod HQ for his doughnuts & coffee..

Yet if you do 33 in a 30mph zone, all over you like a rash..

Travellers, do what the hell they like..

Also, a Traveller caravan on the roadside opposite Clover Leaf Garage on the grass verge, stayed for two nights now, totally ignored, bet If I put a caravan on there, they would be all over me like a rash...

PS Mods, if you dont like this thread, tell me why?

Nope,
I saw a Police riot van, & a panda car ignore the traffic violations that occurred in front of them? Doubt they would have ignored any other group?

So you're asking why about 4 cops didn't try to stop 100. Think about it.
 
Backup backup! Some people are causing traffic congestion so we need 100 police cars here now to start a mini riot so we can clear the roads in about three hours time once we've cautioned them all and got their details and arrested them...oh wait never mind they left.

Ok. What about them ignoring a smaller group, like happened in Thornton a few weeks back? Where do you draw the line on where they become unapproachable?
 
This kind of thread came up around a year ago, the only post I’ve ever had deleted was involving them
I’ve had my workshop broken into around 7 times in the last 20 years, every time these people have been in the area,
I’m not saying it’s anything to do with them it’s probably just a massive coincidence, let’s face it they just travel around the country spreading joy & happiness

Are you sure they were breaking the law. (check the highway code regarding horses)
They annoy me as well!

Following your unreasonable reasoning, why don’t we save the country multi millions. We could scrap the police totally and let everyone do what they like or we could change the law and say unless the police outnumber offenders 4 to one there will be no response. Happy days ( for the offenders).

I'll just come out and say it.

Think you may be being a bit overdramatic.
 
They do exactly what they want around here as well especially by parking vans in places they shouldn’t. If I parked where they did I would get a ticket but the police just ignore them 😡
 
A guy who used to come into one of my pubs, took a baseball bat to half a dozen young lads outside another pub. Put two of them in hospital, one of them with serious head injuries. It turned out they were travellers and the father and uncles threatened revenge including burning down any pub that allowed him in. The police came to see me and said they’d had a meeting with the senior guys in this particular group and had agreed that they would get him out of town to avoid any trouble. They told me they couldn’t control them, or take any action about the threats. Basically, they were scared.
