I am surprised there isn’t a thread on the goings on in LA and now across the USA. He is itching to cause riots nationwide so he can use force to deal with them, the more the better as far as he is concerned. A civil war would play into his hands and he could then carry on as president indefinitely.

I'm not convinced that Trump even fully understands what is actually going on. Much of what IS happening today is I think a result of sixty years of policies dictated by the religious right. Almost all republican presidents certainly since Nixon have been useful idiots and the democrats haven't been much better. Obama was their last real hope but the democrats in the legislature were as weak as American coffee.
The difference with trump is that ultimately his decisions are entirely random. He's treating the presidency as another reality TV show, if it's on the news and he's mentioned in connection I think he considers that to be good.
The US has been loading it's implementing authorities with incapable sociopathic automatons for decades. This could all descend into civil war, because the majority of Americans do not want what the trump administration is doing. The thing is that 250 plus years after independence they are still fighting over race and other civil rights issues.

Far-right Christian fundamentalism has become the dominant ideology within the Republican Party.
Trump understands that many in this group will support virtually anything he does, so long as it’s framed as being in service of God.
Even if it means killing off minorities, immigrants, and the LGBTQ+ community.
None of this is random.

I agree with all that, I've read most of project 2025, simply because the basic elements are now being bought into the thinking and policies of right wing European political lobby groups, and its a deeply disturbing document; but, here's where I think the randomness happens. Trump is such a massive ego maniac that he will not defer to others, so he has to make a point of being "in charge" and being the source of all ideas. He appoints Musk who although deep down is a white supremacist does have quite a few contradictory views to P25 particularly in regard to energy and personal transport. He's now picking fights with the conservative judiciary and the body that has spent 50 years manipulating the judicial system all the way up to the supreme court. That is something that those organisations don't want.
He's undermining US economic hegemony to the point where there is serious risk that the dollar might lose its status as the world's reserve currency. P25 is (even though its economics is deluded) pushing for even greater global US economic power, in line with the Rove / Cheney ideologies, if the dollar isn't the world's reserve its debt becomes untenable. The on / off - up / down tariffs are also undermining US economic hegemony and destabilising the US markets. US markets have been vastly overvalued for at least since the economic crash because of tech stocks who do most of their sourcing from China and other far east countries, if tech stocks fail then the rest of the US stock could fail again in a much bigger way than 2007.
It wont be long until Trump starts to fall out with the various religious nutjobs that currently back him, there are several religiously backed supreme court justices, and he's already setting out a stall against them, it will not surprise me if Mike Johnson makes a single decison against Trump which brings that house of cards down.
I agree many of the events that are happening, the conflicts, the social unrest, the police setting out a war stance against citizens etc is planned but Trump is a randomiser in that he's also destroying the economic base that the various right wing groups are reliant upon. If their economic base fails a few at the very top will be okay but it will destroy the white religious upper middle class who are so invested in traditional America.
I could be completely wrong and Trump is a genius who simply plays at being the most stupid person in any room. Without doubt he hero worships Putin and the other authoritarians, and he wants to be like them.
I think there is actually a scarier alternative to Trump in JD Vance who is without doubt a fundamentally more useful idiot to the far right Christian fundamentalists because he will tow the line without necessarily blowing up the US economic hegemony. I'll state additionally that the US economy is probably on its last legs anyway. Its primary export is the US dollar, and it is inevitable that the dollar will be superceded as the world's reserve currency eventually.

I'm absolutely 100% certain. If you can't see the enormous difference you have to be blind, drunk or stupid, in my opinion.
I despair too, hence the descent into total bluntness. The right wing shite we see everywhere now is like the descent into the abyss that will wreck everything. Yet people blindly cling to it as some sort of hope for the future.

For the the avoidance of doubt I would have 1000 trumps to one starmer . Surely any decent law abiding human would rather have trump. Starmer is the most despised political leader in world history. I personally know hundreds that would love trump here and there are millions more out there.

I see the photos of last nights riots have turned out to be from Florida in 2023.

Pictures I watched on last nights sky news were showing half a dozen Police cars and police officers cowering under a bridge on an interstate Passover bridge.
A mob of about 100 hurling blocks of concrete down on them and a good few of them waving Palestinian flags as they did it.
So it puts your no need to shame and clearly sends a message out to the average American person they are needed because this rioters are after blood.

In my experience the person who calls everybody else out for being a liar is often the one who is free and easy with the truth.
Trump has been calling every media outlet and news agency that doesn't give him an easy ride or repeat his nonsense without question as fake news for years.
The BBC isn't perfect but i believe it to be a more trust worthy organisation than Trumps White House.
A fair point no9 we've imported religions from the middle east in the form of Christianity and Islam and look what happens, loads of wars and a lack of respect for our environment and nature on these once beautiful islands.
Bring back our original pagan ways and we'll have clean water and forests again, i think they respected women aswell.

It’s not a difficult choice to make is it? As there’s no such thing as a peaceful protest when the blue touch paper has already been lit.

The Leeds riots a few years ago were started in exactly the same way the local council decided in the best interests of the children they had to take them away for their own safety and the local clientele (Rumanians as I recall) decided to riot over it.
They would never have taken my kids away in a millions years because I love them too much and I’d never abuse them either or have drugs in the house as I love them too much same today for my grandchildren.
Sometimes you simply have to put the welfare of that child/children first so is that wrong with that.
If the parents want to be scumbags then fair enough but innocent Children are removed from homes as a last resort and it’s not taken lightly trust me.

Nonetheless, the authorities aren’t exactly helping the situation.
Theirs plenty of white Americans and Brits who do drugs and are guilty of sex crimes. It’s not just immigrants who commit crime.
