You've answered your own statement in the first three words. I'm not convinced it's hatred more worry and incredulity.
 
Naively, I expected moderate Republicans to keep him in check but seems that the likes of Mitch McConnell are so self interested that they’ve enabled him. I read a nice quote from a former biographer and admirer of McConnell, who said “Those who stick with the hideous, incompetent demagogue endanger the country & will be remembered in history as shameful cowards.”
 
His press briefings have now degenerated into a daily slanging match between the WH press corp and him and the press cleary have seen through this idiot and have no respect for him. Instead they stand up and face his every statement with questions which he hates and struggles to give any form of common sense answer or often a sane response. Such a shame that this inadequate buffoon represents the US, truly shameful.
 
From what I heard about his 'speech' etc, he's taken the credit for anything positive that happens and ignored anything
that might go against him.

Still don't understand for the life of me why he is still so popular over there. It's almost like 1984 has really happened over there with much of the population.

At this rate I could see him declaring himself a “God” a la Caligula! who rather wryly uttered “By Jove, or should I say By Myself!” Or in Trumps case: “You see God, Great guy, great guy, but I think I’m more Bigly now”! think people over here are just numb to it but where I live they rioted the night he was elected, the rural population has a disproportionate amount of voting power due to the electoral system. If he wasn’t supposedly in charge he’d be the best comedian in the country though, had me in stitches when he was talking about how amazing the virus is like he wanted to sleep with it.
 
There's plenty on this board who thought he was a breath of fresh air, cutting through the crap etc. When he was elected and recently, voices seem to have quietened now though.

If the economy tanks so will his chances, that's all that matters to win a second term, he's borrowed massively to prop it up in the hopes of just that.

He's scared to death of Biden because he can't win the rust belt as easily as he did against Clinton, it's all punted on the economy.

He mentioned allowing some governors to start opening states before the end of this month.

Ive followed all these pressers every night but the last two nights there has been a distinct change of approach.
