A significant sum obviously, but probably more than comfortable for him. What kind of message does that send to potential rapists.

The issue is, if you rape, you can avoid a long jail sentence, which must be terrifying for victims.

In this country we convict 1% of all accused rapists so I think Spain isn’t our problem but the OP demonstrates our mindset that we are better then “foreign” countries

Think rape is one of the hardest charges, to stick as more often than not it is the word of 2 parties and no witnesses.
Felt sorry for the Blackpool player charged and acquitted as it ruined his prospects here and he lived through over a, year of hell.

Yes but he lost 2 years and with that hanging over him was not allowed to train with others, and never had a chance here, that is not a dig at the club BTW
