U turn

Boris has backed down yet again and put £396 million to Christmas half term and Easter meals for poor kids.

Once again, three weeks behind the curve. Why get so much political grief and have your henchmen out justifying it, if you're then going to change your mind?

What's next?

The conservative MPs who were forced to vote against the school meals initiative must be spitting feathers. They received a load of stick over this and had to defend it. No coincidence this comes out the morning after the Biden win, most air time will be focused on that.

Expect this U turn to be followed by a deal with the EU, as Boris comes to recognise that unless a deal is done which guarantees the Irish border, there won’t be a trade deal with the US any time soon.

I think we should welcome this U turn unreservedly but as said above, why use up so much political capital with the country and his own backbenchers in the first place?

It sort of suggests he isn’t really a very good politician.

What state is this country in when the Prime Minister telephones a footballer to discuss the spending of 100s of millions of pounds.

What is it they say, knows the cost of everything and the value of nothing, not even a bit of possitive PR, other world Boris that is.
