U17s in Floodlit Cup semi-final action tonight.

Glad it's floodlit (why doesn't the spelling look right?) otherwise the players would think they're at a Take That concert with the lights from spectators mobile phones 😂

16' GOAALLLL!!!!!Layton Campbell drives at the Mansfield defence before feeding James Butterworth who slides it past the keeper into the bottom corner.
18' - GOALLLLL!!!!Terry Bondo doubles Pool's lead with an easy finish after his initial header crashed off the crossbar.
39' - GOAAALLLL!!!! Jack Richardson fires home after Ky-Mani Leliendal's fizzing delivery from the right was tipped into his path.
44' - So close to a fourth as Layton Campbell beats his man and strikes from distance but the Mansfield keeper does brilliantly to tip it over the bar.

52' - GOAAALLLL!!!! Layton Campbell buries the spot-kick low past the keeper.
71' Lennon Scholes replaces Layton Campbell.
72' - Brilliant save by Kai Crowe to keep his clean sheet intact.
82' - GOAALLLL!!!! Substitute Lennon Scholes fires in Pool's fifth with a cool low finish past the onrushing Mansfield keeper.

Great news - always seems strange how our development/Youth team win cups, plaudits and leagues and yet individually struggle to make the grade. Is that because of the standard in those leagues/cups.

This is a National competition which I think is just for Cat 3 academies. What it shows is we are towards the top end of the level that we compete at.
I've said it a few times recently I do think the kids that the kids that are coming through from the u16s are looking strong and I'm hoping watching next seasons u18s will prove me right.
