USA Senate pass Ukraine aid bill

At last. They need to stop procrastinating and give the Ukrainians what they need quickly. Same goes for the EU too, but especially the Americans.

Those Bradley’s, the air defence systems and potentially jet fighters will swing this war.
 
Hope they get them there quickly, Ukraine is very much on the back foot and the worry is that this package will only stem the tide, prolong the war and many more lives will be lost. The west has procrastinated from the start, they didn’t believe that Russia would invade even as they were massing thousands of troops near the border, and all along they’ve delayed decisions about what to send and what not to send.

It’s all been about making sure that nato are not drawn into the war, and that could come back to bite them f Russia does eventually prevail.
 
I'm hoping that a lot of the doom laden reporting from Ukraine was to ensure that this support happened, maybe its still recoverable

I’m not sure it is to be honest.

Only last week the Russians finally admitted they had lost 50,000 soldiers in a war (special operation according to Putin) that’s been going on for 2 years now which many didn’t think would last 6 months.

The vast majority of Russians (civilians) have had enough of this war once they saw their loved ones coming home in body bags which they didn’t expect to see the tune soon started to change.

Reading this news this morning about billions of dollars of arms being sent to Ukraine it’s only going to make things worse for Putin and the public.

Unlike the war in Gaza no one seems to want to end this war as both sides battle it out it’s taken a back seat with what’s gone on between Iran and Israel of late.

The Ukrainians will never stop fighting until the last Russian boot is off Ukrainian soil so I feel it’s up to Putin to stop it.
 
When they say 50,000 soldiers they really mean 50k Russian soldiers and a further 250k cannon fodder criminals and expendables that in Putins eyes don’t count.
 
Ukraine has been struggling against Russian missiles. My hope is that this support gives them the defences to hold any Russian advance. Russia is getting lots of its materiel now from Iran and China. However, its manpower is very stretched and that is its weak spot.
 
Great news.
However, Putin has now said he will escalate events.
Meaning more attacks on some Eastern countries.
Unfortunately all Russians are scared of him so do as he says.
That country needs a 'backbone.
