Vardys 350th game for Leicester (1m Karl?)

It wasnt a million, it was less than half a million but klown shoes knew better and told Mickey Mellon to do one. When he finally twigged everyone was onto him including Celtic. Im sure MM said it was 250k at the start.

A great result today.

If you guys had bought Vardy then clearly you'd have won the Cup today. 😎

Not worth 1m eh Karl?
That was them and this is now - I must say the last time I watched Vardy in an FA Cup tie was against Pool - poor Baptistery got a runaround but our reserves quality shoeless brightly - boy we hammered them

vardy was class though, esp 2nd half, and I was pleased he had a happier FA Cup day today - well done Jaimie, fantastic career

It is still utterly astonishing that we got the players in we did during KoKo's regime - he was a League Two Manager Chairman who somehow got lucky. I remember one time Matt Williams telling me that OO wanted to spend big on a decent player who would have made a huge difference in the Prem (can't remember who now - maybe Shay Given) and KoKo blocked it.

Think it was Ollie who was trying to encourage the clown 🤡 to pay whatever it took to get Vardy from Fleetwood and D J back again. Wouldn’t it have been sensible to back a manager who has got you into the Prem and earned you sat £90 million rather than spend most of your efforts taking fans to court and then Owens greed took over. Thank goodness we now have an owner that loves the Pool as much as we do. Getting very nervous about the playoffs now 🤔

Vardy's move to Leicester was the start of big things for them, remember they were in the C/Ship at the time and Leicester paid a record fee for a non league player and boy how that gamble has paid off, every credit to them.

Leicester paid £1m up front for Vardy with add on's for promotion and England caps etc

Koko? As you can imagine he tried his usual antics and was told where to shove it by AP.

The only thing that AP was annoyed at was Vardy turning down Arsenal's bid of £20m for the striker (and the huge wage increase that went with it), FTFC were due a 20% cut of that with their sell on clause so missed out on £4m.

In contention for the worst transfer clanger with Vardy was Karl declining to sign Medhi Benatia for 100K from Clermont. Went on to play for Udinese, Roma, Bayern, Juve and Al-Duhail. Transfer fee to Bayern was €26 million. Transfers fees that all of those clubs paid combined amounts to €70 million. 2 times Bundesliga winner, 3 times Serie a winner. Morocco Captain. African team of the decade alongside Yaya Toure, Mahrez, Mané, Aubameyang and Salah.
It’s a relief that this sort of thing is unlikely to happen again.

A bit harsh on League Two chairmen, you wouldn't let Joffrey run a corner shop.

Interesting that Vardy is the 1st ever player to play in every round of the FA Cup.
This obviously includes 1st Qualifying round etc.
Possibly will never be equalled.

Koko football genius 😧

He was the nepotistic face of a third rate property business that happened to own a football club - who got lucky
I recall His Holiness Sir Marcus referring to it in court as "a property business witha football club attached". Perfectly apt and understated, like so many things he said 😗 🏝️

Yes, I saw that fact in the Telegraph today. The number of rounds in the FA Cup including preliminary rounds right up to the final is apparently 14. But I make it 13 if there are 5 preliminary rounds before the 1st round proper since the 6th round is the quarter-finals. Quibbling, though, it’s a great record to hold, and describes his playing history perfectly.

“And Vardy was making history again. With Leicester and for himself. At 34, he became the first player in the FA Cup’s 150 years to featured in every stage of the competition from the preliminary round, five steps before the first round proper, to the final: that is 14 rounds from eighth-tier club Stocksbridge Park Steels to Wembley with Leicester.”
