Wait for the reaction .. Fonz's miss!!

We are woeful in front of goal, so much play today but never at any point did I actually feel we would score. Confidence is rock bottom but we have to accept some of the players are nowhere near good enough. Regardless of who comes in as manager as a huge job on their hands.

Only seen the highlights from the one camera angle. Fonz‘s first touch takes the keeper out but the Wimbledon no 7 appears to come in to the side and slightly behind Fonz. Not sure if he catches Fonz. On the other hand it might just be a bad miss! (Copied from match thread)

We're a weird bunch aren't we. I don't know what to say about Fonz, I can't think of a more inconsistent player to play in the football league let alone Blackpool. Play 2/3 games get dropped, play 2/3 games get dropped, play 2/3 games get dropped.... he's made a career out of that.

Let’s talk straight...he is shite at any level and the Fact that he is far from our worst player tells you all you need to know

Just saw the highlights. Watched the miss about ten times. On first showing it is indeed horrendous. How on earth etc.

But it looked to me like he was fouled by the defender just as he was about to slot it home.

Even so. He didn't need to dink it to the right of the keeper to tee up a shot. He could/should have just smashed it in first time. The dink gave the defender time to get back.

That's what you get when you keep dragging a player like him back to Blackpool. Miss or no miss hes not good enough.
Agree wholeheartedly with this. Fonz is mediocre and the fact that this is his 4th stint at BFC with no improvement shows the extent of the mediocrity of the team in all that time. I'm tired of Chizzy saying how he gives us pace up front, it's no good if 9 times out of 10 he does nothing with it. I watched on iFollow and honestly couldn't believe that even he would fuck that one up but if course he did

I would say that's pretty consistent tbh 2/3 games get dropped. The only inconsistent thing would be how long between his 2/3 games. Would it be 2/3 games or more?

Jesus Fonz. What an enigma he is. He does have his days and when he does he is fantastic. He has the skills to be a really good player, but those good days arw few and far between. It is a shame.

Them higlights make it look like we were under the kosh for most of the game?

Highlights were not a fair reflection of the match. Blackpool were comfortably the better side and should have won. Desperately need a couple of out and out goalscorers in the squad. Without Gnando in the side there is no sense of where a goal will come from. Madine holds up the ball well and will create the chances but he needs a partner.

Enigma is a good description. He should be crushing it at League 1 level with his pace and skill. Sometimes he just seems to cruise past defenders but as soon as he get into a scoring position, goes to pieces......almost like having the yips. Despite all the doom and gloom I thought we played ok yesterday in difficult conditions. Madine is a good target man, holding up the ball and bringing the midfielders into play. Dewsbury-Hall is a talent and was causing all sorts of problems with his inswinging corners in the 2nd half until he was inexplicably taken off them? When we get the ball down and start passing we look a good team we just need an injection of confidence that hopefully a new manager will bring.

Fair enough that is why I placed a question mark at the end of the sentence as I had only seen these highlights

Exactly anf the fact the Fonz isn't crushing it a league one despite having the attributes to do so is the most frustrating thing

That was a horrendous miss. However that is why we have scored so few goals, the whole team seem frightened to death of having a shot. Whenever we get within shooting distance they all are looking to abdicate responsibility and try to pass to someone, anyone, else.

Decision making is very poor throughout most of our team is this something you can coach? I hope so.

Never been a fan of the Fonz, will do one good thing then he decides to disappear for the other 90% of the game I’ve never quite seen anything like it from a footballer it’s happening every other game he starts, not good enough needs to be moved on and not because of that miss his overall game contribution is very poor.

Del is a good player who would get in most league 1 teams and he is also a great clubman and top pro. What he isn't is a Kevin Phillips/ DJ Campbell/ Tony Ellis/ Brett Ormerod type natural goalscorer. That is what we need more than anything.
