Warnock as manager?

Proven at this level and one above but does he still have the no nonsense straight talking approach that some of our players need to hear? Thoughts?

To add to this I don't believe the players were playing their best for Grayson so will there be players to weed out? My thoughts are yes as despite tactics it seemed some players weren't playing for the team.

Warnock is more than proven at championship level, never mind league 1.
Problem is, it becomes the main stream opinion to dislike certain managers and he’s one with that stigma attached. He would be a very good appointment.

If you want the style of play to be more attractive, he's not the man for the job.

If you don't care about that, he might be the best appointment we can make. His name hasn't been mentioned anywhere but here though has it?

I worry about our fans sometimes. In one breath we want Grayson out because he's a "dinosaur" and the football is dire, and in the next there is a positive reaction to Warnock (who is everything we disliked about Grayson).

Let's appoint someone younger with recent success who is available and plays an open and exciting brand of football. Nathan Jones.

He's not the right man for several reasons, that's not to say he would be a bad choice, I just can't see us going from one dinosaur to another.

I knew someone that was in the same team as Warnock when they were players. Said he was the biggest billy big Bollox King Cnut in all of football. Great manager though! I doubt he would come here even if targeted. I like Henshman’s post about installing a new BFC dynasty with Thommo as manager, Evo as assistant and Adam as Captain and coach.

No way. Graysons football was bad enough let alone Warnocks. We can be successful AND have an exciting brand of football, it doesn't have to be one or the other. Nathan Jones or Ian Evatt for me. My preference is Evatt.

Nathan Jones for me, his Luton team last season (and a couple of seasons before) were exceptional. Scored bags of goals, fast attacking football and ultimately walked lg1. Yes had a tough time at Stoke but for me no isdue with that, Stoke is like turning the Titanic. Jones will have a point to prove and will be desperate to 'get back in'. Love him or loathe him personality but if he replicates with us what he did at Luton who cares!

After all the comments about the way SG operates , and then to want Warnock is just unbelievable! He is the dinosaur to end all dinosaurs , a grinder out of results. You want entertainment and then want this guy ?

No thanks. Agree with what many have said. He is out dated and a dinosaur. 70 years old to boot. No the man to take us forward. Has been successful in the past, but as stated not the type to play the sort of football we are after and a grinder out of results

Nathan Jones sounds like the right man for the job..... as long as he entertains and looks like he gives a chit in technical area, he’ll do for me. Oh, and the odd result would be nice.

Just someone with some charisma, as Larry was a right miserable sod!

I detest Warnock. Yes he's had success more often than not but he's an old school type of football manager and a total wind-up merchant. Once he's got his 19 games or whatever it is he needs to get to 1500 games as a manager he will probably sack it off. He stuck around at Cardiff because it was probably just about commutable from Cornwall. Let's get someone who's young, hungry and can get what is a decent squad of players playing attacking, possession based football. There seems to be a trend towards a head coach rather than an all encompassing Manager type.

Absolutely bizarre.

If Warnock is the yard stick when some are wanting a younger, more dynamic and exciting manager, we might as well go for Steve McClaren 🤣
Younger unproven manager or lower League manager have to say no thanks. We need progression not experimentation.

Have to say young coach unproven no thanks. Needs to be someone with a proven record young or older.

No. Warnock is clearly a very good manager but I think we're in the market for someone to take us on and build a way of doing stuff.

Warnock will take one more heroic fire fighting job and keep someone up or pick up the pieces when some big side fall out the prem and are stuck mid table or something.

I don't see how he 'fits' us when realistically he's an 18 month appointment at most and whilst he's clearly very able, teams tend to struggle when he goes because his way of managing depends so much on him.

I'm not sure, at his age, what we could possibly offer him.
Come in and be expected to win 75% of the remaining games and make the play offs to be seen as a success this season, without being able to sign a single player (other than unemployed ones).
I'm struggling to see what would entice a 71 year old to take this on.

I wonder what Harry Redknapp is up to?

Absolutely.Dont be taken in by this dinosaur who funnily enough followed Grayson at Dirty. I thought we'd hit the jackpot but saw sides rip us apart at ER with the 'old guard' he brought in,like Paddy Kenny and Michael Tonge.
