I have always wondered why we don’t go for players out of the uk more, they always seem to work when we do and there’s so much talent from Europe that would love to play in England instead we go for 33 year old Millwall players,
is it lazy recruitment? Lazy scouting?
 
Drogheda are facing d day today....they are due to play in conference of euro competitions as FAI cup winners but are owned by the same entity that own Walsall and more importantly a foreign club.
The foreign club has also qualified for the conference and euro rules don't allow co ownership in the same competition.
Drogheda could miss out on €550k if banned and have appealed the rule and are waiting on their fate.

More likely to sell if they are barred from Europe?

Lavery & Lyons. Both signed from the League of Ireland.

It happens a lot more in the championship where they can afford the better scouting networks.

Since Brexit all non UK players have to meet strict guidelines to get a work permit. To get enough points a player usually has to play regularly for their country.

Warren Green was our Academy Manager who tragically passed aged 46 in 2020.
I think he might have played in our Academy prior to joining the "staff"
Gone but not forgotten.
 
He will sign for the club offering the most wages.The footballers agents hold all the cards,playing club against club.
