We’re paying £54 million to France

Thanks a fair assumption.

As I said in an earlier comment it becomes a problem when we’re giving accommodation and feeding illegal immigrants when we have people of our own on the streets many ex armed forces who have become outcasts in today’s society.
I've always thought that if the state sends our people around the world to be involved in combat situations it has a duty of care to look after them when they get home. Wether they be mentally or physically damaged the state should look after them, it shouldn't be left to charities.
I don't know what refugees do or don't get but when I watch the news and see what some of these people go through I think maybe we have to be a bit more careful about where we sell our weapons and where we send our armed forces.
In short I am happy for my taxes to be spent on people in genuine need wherever they come from, I'm less happy when well connected not particularly capable people like Dido Harding make people wealthy with our money with little benefit to the people of the UK.

Of course. I don’t think Trammo realised you can still connect to avftt from a Palazzo in Tuscany. But hey ho. Not my problemo. (Already working on the old lingo you’ll see).

The crowd funding has started really well but although Trammo may have said no strings, you are not getting your 48 million sheets until you agree to stop moaning about the country.

Sorry you can’t start unilaterally imposing new conditions once the deal is done.

And for the record, I’m not moaning about the country. I’m moaning about some of the people I have to share it with.

£54Million?
Sureky that would pay for a shuttle service to man the Channel Coast?
They would stop all dinghys/rowboats and any other water vehicles and return them to whichever Channel shore they sailed from.
It's getting stupid now, they just see the UK as an easy touch, and the French/Belgians are only too happy to help them over.
The line easy touch is straight from the likes of the Daily Mail. It's the same line as prisoners get an easy ride blah blah. It's whipped up for the hard of thinking, divides society and allows the uber rich to get away without paying fair taxes, Sir Philip Green to shaft the staff of their pensions and Sir Richard Branson to get the begging bowl out to the govt for his airline, whilst paying hardly any UK tax and spunking millions on his space trip. Keep on demonising asylum seekers, I suggest you watch the documentary For Sama on the plight of Syrians. I find it quite disgusting the take the we are an easy touch, whilst we bomb the middle East. I'm also sick of the narrative about Polish people, my grandad had two in his crew in bomber command.

Trammo

I was wondering why you started going on about crows, now I see why, my bad.

I hope I haven't interrupted your viewing of Sir Winston.

I remember the days when immigrants had to travel through three countries, blag a leaky inflatable with 35 others and struggle across the Channel using a shovel and a couple of oars. Now they get a lift to France, hire a fancy speedboat, get an escort from the French coastguard and a warm welcome, accommodation and a packet of asylum application forms from the UK government. Easy touch.

That's the Tories for you. You won, deal with it.

Not my problem. Own it etc etc etc.

Fancy speedboats come at a cost, these people fall victim to criminal gangs and become slaves. Remember the lot who suffocated in the back of the lorry and the Chinese cockle pickers that died in morecambe Bay. Such an easy ride for them.

With much help from the Americans and Russians, not to mention the many other nations who assisted. It was called working together for a common goal. How Brexit has deviated from such thought!!! Stupid Tories!

What? All on his own?
Think of the forces who served and really got the job done.
I didn't see my father for 4 years when he was in North Africa & Italy fighting for his country.
We didn't know or recognise him when returned.
4years not seeing your dad is a long time. Hope things got better eventually 👍

dodgy, I've put on here a couple of times how it went. In 1945 My brother and I (he was 16 months older than I) went up Regent Rd towards the back entrance of St. Johns Infants School. Opposite the Regent cinema we saw a soldier with Kit bag, rifle, tin hat etc crossing the Church St towards us. He looked at us and said 'Are you Alan & David P ?'.
We said 'Yes'. He said ' I'm your father'. We didn't know him as we hadn't seen him for over 4 years.
Also he was very brown.
