We are doing everything right

I completely agree. I don’t think he’s done anything to warrant inclusion in the first XI so far and would like to see Sarkic played in the same position or even Antwi given some game time if Robson can step a little further up

It's a cliche in football that managers usually hit the jackpot (if they hit it at all) in their second (full) season in charge. That would be 2021/22 for NC then, and he should be afforded at least that time to deliver on SS's projections, without any knee jerk reactions from fans.

Alot of Blackpool supporters are arseholes and have seriously done my head in with all their negativity crap. People need to be patient and wait for us to click.

Interesting hearing people’s thoughts on this now we’re 7 games in, cup and league.

Something I’ve been thinking is, perhaps Critch just needs to keep it simple. ie Robson you just sit here with Williams or Virtue or who ever you don’t have to go chasing all over the place to get the ball, just protect the centre backs.

Like wise with Anderson, just operate between the centre circle and the 18 yard box feed balls into the front three, shoot when you can.

It looks slightly Like they’re receiving a thousand instructions per training sessions and can’t stick to all of them during a game.

Something I’ve often heard about top mangers or players dropping down to manage in the lower leagues is, they come with fantastic methods and ideas but it all falls down and fails because the players arnt up to that level of understanding and execution.

Not that I’m saying it’s failing, it’s too early for that. But sometimes it’s the simple things in life.

Really good post that Rekt and something i believe is often very true i.e. coaches hugely overcomplicate things and pay the price for it. It's all well and good having a 'style' that you think is great, but styles usually depend on having players that suit the tasks their being asked to do. Let Keith Southern press, tackle and work his socks off and he was great. Ask him to get on the ball and create chances and you're barking up the wrong tree...
I think this was definitely what let Grayson down last season. There were so many times when he set up the team and you really couldn't see what the shape or system was. So is it any wonder the players couldn't adapt? Contrast to his first spell with us where you could see where each player fitted in.

As a club we are still doing everything right, no given right to win games but we will sooner rather than later

There’s a fair few who get very easily carried away with new dawns, new players, and new head coaches too and they are equally irritating to sit next to and listen to. I had to endure one guy who was the number 1 member of the John O Kane fan club who kept telling us we knew nothing about football and his positional play was top flight. And one guy who kept telling me Hendry was the next Alex Ferguson.

I like to think of this season as a 12 month pre-season ready for the main event next year 😄

This board is depressing reading, lest not forget we have ousted the Odious Oystons, have a wonderful ambitious owner in Saddler who has already heavily invested into the club. We are on the up albeit with a stuttering start on the field. Keep the faith UTMP
