It's over isn't it?

Strolling down the Prom, you see families meeting, cyclists, fishermen having a couple of cans with their music playing. You go the park and kids are playing full contact football. Other kids join the game and no-one bats an eyelid. People happy, enjoying the sun. Not a mask in sight.

Yes if you want to risk more spikes and more variants that may render the current vaccines ineffective.......fantastic.

Don`t you listen to the advice from those who know,the health experts, about how important it is to stick to the guidelines and not jump the gun?

Why are so many stupid,self indulgent and irresponsible in this country,are they happy if they cause more avoidable deaths to occur and possibly more lockdowns to be needed?

There will be people doing exactly the same in other countries. You will never get 100% compliance, hopefully enough people are doing sufficient.

Yes of course you are right but I despair of their irresponsibility when you see them or hear about them or they come on here lauding their stupidity. I am as desperate as anyone to get back to a normal life but we won`t get out of this by behaving like that and the more that do behave like that the worse are our chances of a relatively prompt recovery .

Another beautiful day on the Fylde coast. A few beers on the front is a must - It'd be rude not to. Hope everyone manages to enjoy the sunshine at some point today.

A very silly post.

I`ve been out walking with my daughter today, the one allowed in my bubble, on a lovely day and that`s great but we all know that some push the boat out too far, beyond the guidelines,which is why the infection rate is still increasing in 20% of local areas. Where the infection levels increase of course so does the chance of variants and mutations developing that may sidestep vaccines currently available. So how would you feel if through stupidity and irresponsibility that disaster happened and we had to have another lockdown and many more avoidable deaths?

I was fishing today on the Prom and it was rammed and good for them exercise and fresh air nothing better.

Did find it ironic one set of people moaning how busy it was!

We are talking about people playing outside in the park here, not and mass indoor orgy!!

Do you know how many examples there are where Covid has been confirmed to have transmit from person to person in an everyday outdoor sitiation?

IF...the vaccine is going to do as it 'says on the tin' and it reduces hospitalisation......the general public will lower it's pitifully poor standards and stop (or reduce) their reliance on the 4 pillars of Covid (2m, PPE, washing hands & open windows)...as we are already seeing

But the boffins (Government?) have factored this into the coming figures.......Believe me. number of people being testing at this moment is practically non existent.
If testing starts to go up (as is expected)......but hospitalisation (and ultimately ☠️⚰️) goes down then were on track for easing and going back to normal.......This is the ultimate reality of this virus.....Covid just becomes the new flu.

Agree the downside is mutation...but (the majority of the general public) keeping to the rules is needed....just for the next few months.
If the 'majority' of us do this....we get our life back........bollox to the 'free thinking hippies'

Let people live FFS we've had enough of our civil liberties taken away from us and now the weather has turned get out and enjoy it.

What get's me is that you have the 65 plus age group accusing everyone else of being selfish, when without a hint of irony they expect the entire world to come to a standstill to keep them "Safe"...

I get it....I'm sure no decent human being is going to go out of there way to put thgemselves or other people at risk, but I'm sorry you can fuck right off if I'm dancing to rules that have no impact at all on virus transmission, just because some fuckwit has stuck them in the governments instructions on how to live your life.

Over 730,000 were tested yesterday, how many do you want/expect to be tested?
 
Its not difficult really, get out and get some exercise, enjoy the weather but try and keep a bit away from people still, not like id be going so close to others anyway.

I think the government has slow played the release, it could have happened faster.

We have 20 million vaccinated, the vast majority of the vunerable there, in the next month we will have covered half the nation, yes it takes a few weeks or for full protection but the way I think of it is think of all the dead ends the virus now has.

Let's not forget a huge spike after Xmas, 20 million vaccinated but how many with natural anti bodies also. So probably we'll over half the nation with antibodies to it.

There was some example of how social distancing stopped the spread by cutting out you passing it on which then multiplied to many others getting it down the chain, the vaccine is the same.

The chances outside are reduced but with antibodies and vaccines even less, but people should still stay away from people, not hard to do on the prom or beach if you try.

Just think the government could have opened quicker, business is now important, no reason football fans shouldn't be able to attend at least in limited numbers, they are nowhere near each other in a stadium, but I digress.

Yeah great when thousands of people are still getting infected, infections are increasing in many areas and the majority are still months away from a vaccine. Suspect the morons will ensure that lockdown remains for months longer than it could have.
 
Person at my partner's work tested positive today. Not ideal really. I had the buzz of "yeah, this is freedom now" cos I've just been on a lovely sunny walk for a couple of hours, on a bit of high... and got back in to other half saying xxxxx has tested positive and doing a self test kit so that took the edge off a bit really.

The ones who go into hospital with a broken finger and come out with Covid?

The ones who are looking after essential workers kids in our schools and nursery’s.

The ones who are working front line ?

Or are you referring to people meeting their mates in a park and having a chat, whilst stood 2-3 metres apart.? (The only group that won’t be transmitting Covid)
 
It's over when I can go to a game, buy a ticket for a gig that isn't going to be cancelled, go to the West Coast on a Saturday and then bang loads of money into the jukebox in the Mitre.

Well yesterday across the 4 sites on the Fylde there were less than 160 tests done.....just over 500 if you add the 3 sites in Preston as well.......
For the last month, this has been the average (or less).......so I can only speak from my point of view and what I'm seeing.

But I still think my tripe/shit reply still stands.......were asked to do something...and the majority understands why....and agrees
It wont be long......but fuck up now.....and it will be a little bit longer...because for every...Im just meeting a mate in the park and were 2m apart

Infections are not killing the vast vast majority of people under the age of 60 years old.Infections are not an issue if the injection they have provided is effective like they say it is.So to say the vast majority are still months away from being called up for their vaccine when all the vulnerable categories have received their injections is not proportionate for keeping restrictions in place.

This is how many people have died in England without pre existing conditions under the age of 60 years old.

Don't forget there should be an inquiry into how covid deaths are reported, as at times it looks like at times anyone with covid that died of other things got classified as a figure in it.

I mean... if I had it and had a small cough but got hit by a bus.... is it covid that killed me?

Wow, when you read that it’s pretty clear that under 40s who are healthy have almost nothing to fear? Even under 60 for that matter.
It’s almost a eugenics dream that was concocted by the Nazis to cull society down to the young and fit.
Pretty stark really.

The only issue is will the virus mutate in the under 60s and render the vaccines useless?
 
Generally outdoor activity poses little risk but when places become as crowded as, for example, the Prom was today, that risk must surely increase to some extent. Intended to go for a run there this afternoon but took one look at the hordes at Cleveleys and drove back home. Personally, I don't want to risk catching covid when I may not be vaccinated for a while. Always felt sorry for the soldiers killed in the last few days of a war. But, it's personal choice, of course.
