Its a phenomenal achievement for a 70 year old. My neighbour did it in his early 40s and said it was tough to make it across in time to get the tide right on the France side. He's a swimming team coach and ex competition swimmer.

Yes BHOK, I thought Souness had swam 21 miles on his jacks but when it only took 12 hours, I thought that was a bit quick for a 70 year old chap.

I hear all you say regarding the crossing but they've raised more than a million for the cause so maybe not best to question the fine details right now.
