Why does it have to be a pregnant person when only a woman can become pregnant and give birth?

Very much like only men having a penis, Only women can give birth.

From the Daily Express: Kemi Badenoch has praised BBC presenter Martine Croxall who went viral yesterday after she corrected the teleprompter's script from 'pregnant people' to 'women'.

Speaking about trans madness, Ms Badenoch said the tide has turned on the issue and we are now experiencing the "end of the beginning".

"It does require a lot of brave people continuing to challenge it, just like the news presenter who refused to read the fake phrase she was given to read on television."

I’ve seen quite a few men who appeared to be pregnant 😬

It’s gone too far, and its overreach is one of the root causes of the emerging right.

I think you are short of real problems to be angry about, by the sound of it.

I always thought being "woke" meant having a bit of consideration for and empathy with others. Not judging people by the colour of their skin, or the way they dress and so on. I don't think you can have too much of that. You are focusing on the wrong thing.

Curryman, the world has a large population. People are different all over the place....just let it be.

Don't worry about me being angry, it is more being amused by those who force their views on the majority. Anyway if, as I've just read, the USA base in Qatar has been heavily attacked with rockets etc from Iran, we will all be angry soon about being brought into WW3. I just hope I'm wrong.

Hearing now that the attacks were coordinated with the US to allow Iran to save face. Hopefully it will fizzle out as it did under similar circumstances in 2020.

I wouldn’t get too embroiled in the woke debate, it’s not worth it, you can’t argue against an ideology. I watched this consume the US in the early 2000’s. The counter reaction to it there is Trump. The term is an old and noble term used by the black community in the US as far back as the 1920’s but has sadly been radicalised in recent years to the extent that it can’t be challenged.

If we are to assume that only women, of the available panoply of genders, can become pregnant, then we could argue that the word "women" in this case is a tautology, and therefore redundant.

Not sure how much consideration and empathy you woke left wingers on this site have

Most intolerant people I've ever met

Woke. Ah yes, a mythological concept spawned by those on the right of politics in order to justify their innate intolerance of the caring side of society. Why hate people who want to care and nurture tolerance? Well, it's quite simple really. Those on the far right are naturally intolerant because they fear inclusion. So, they rant and rave against the unlike, the different, those whom they swear at. Why? Because the far right is xenophobically insecure. It seeks strong leaders to defend them against the "outsiders". It snears and points fingers because those on the far right fear the unalike. I pity them.

I know men can't have babies but I shall fight to the death for them to have the right to have babies even though thy can't have babies. Or something like that anyway.
The only reason I care about woke is that it costs the left votes even though most of it is happening only in America. As that annoying twonk Mr Orwell said "the last demand of the party is that you deny the evidence of your own eyes and ears". Something like that anyway it's been decades since I read it.

It's still relevant Bill. Democracy and liberty demand and require a hefty dose of tolerance.

I feel I should write this to put the record straight, but goodness knows why I am doing it.
It concerns a number of different experiences:

1. A good friend of my family was born a male but has gone through the whole system of operations and requirements to be now considered a female. She is a lovely person who doesn't flaunt the fact that she has had a sex change and is a pleasure to be with.

2. In 1982 I arrived in Bradford and took on a pub ,now demolished, not far from the centre. One of my customers was a trans gender person who was a man , living at the time as a woman, who like any human had to use the facilities in the pub. I was asked whether he/she should use the gents or the ladies. I therefore put it , with his/her permission to a vote of the locals, who all knew of the dilemma. The outcome was that the ladies was used by John , who is now known as June, and someone policed the door when it was in use.

3. I'm sure I have mentioned this before, but it is worth mentioning again. I was on a night out with my wife and son a few months ago and on reaching the pub of choice, found there were no seats, There was a couple of same sex friends taking up a large table, one of who was of far eastern heritage, and they moved up to let us sit down for which I thanked them. During a break in the music that was being provided by a singer, the chap with the far eastern look went to the loo. I asked the larger of the two of them what the heritage of his friend was.

The reply I received was, 'I find that offensive, he's from Bradford', I apologised and asked how I could reword the question, to which I received an answer 'You can't I find you offensive'. To cut a long story short, we drank up and on leaving I gave him a mouth full of Welsh and said 'That is where I was brought up, goodnight'. His friend looked in astonishment and said 'what did he say'.

The only one I was angry about was the last of those three, who did their cause no good at all.

What a load of old nonsense, most people just prefer straight forward and commen sense that’s all…..

It's not nonsense. Also, common sense is only common to the socio-cultural demographic that collectively shares and accepts the experiences that makes them common. The broader the demographic, the weaker such concepts as 'common sense' become. Just because you reject my analysis does not invalidate it.

The right snears.

Dear God, the intelligentsia left are the absolute worst at this.
