Well done to the head coach today

Strong side picked, not rushing all the new lads in like some of our more clueless fans wanted

Played well, created more and defensively better

Turton man of the match today as well for me

Well done all, better today with more spirit

Deserved to win ...

It was a strong performance with little cutting edge. Playing very well in areas but lacking final 3rd quality.

Still have a shaky moment in defence but Mitchell had to come on for Garbutt.

Its good we have the new lads in defence and midfield to put pressure on those who are playing and the midfielders brought in seem good quality.

Some strong performances and I thought Williams did well.

I read that game very differently.

Crewe were there to be attacked and Critchley failed to adjust anything to push us on.

Defensively much better yes, but on that it’s not hard to improve on garbage and It helps that we’re set up to keep possession in the first twenty minutes.

But what’s really worrying is when the opposition switch something we’re all over the place.

Critch isn’t showing me much if I’m honest. He doesn’t seem to understand how to adapt to the game in progress.

Totally agree with phil and have said as much myself.

I do think a couple of subs in the last 15 minutes, Luballa and Kemp for CJ and Yates may just have got us the 3 points we deserved. Williams, Turton and Madine the stand out players for me, but they all put in a shift and looked like they were getting to grips with the tactics.

Also football is a game of fine margins and once we went 1-0 down Crewe could easily have scored two more within five mins...what would people be saying now if it had gone 1-0 2-0 3-0 in five mins...we would be in full meltdown...a draw was a fair result...they had some luck and so did we...onwards and hopefully upwards

Big improvement, should have won really. Don’t create enough chances, gotta hope one of these new midfielders has got a final pass in him

Fair play Phil. You aren't the narrow minded pessismist I thought you were. We'll get there in the end. UTP 🧡

Some good points but why do you frequently feel the need to make uneccessary negative comments to other fans? We all want the best for our club and all have our unique perspective. Let's stand united not divided.

That’s just his style mate it will never change 😉

The job lot we cleared out aren’t doing much elsewhere either so in that measurement Critch did fine.
Feeney can't currently get in to Tranmere's first team, Spearing is though. 16th in League Two is no mean feat.

I wonder how Groot is doing in the Turkish 2nd division? As well as Hardie at Plymouth probably.

Did Heneghan manage to get a contract...... Anywhere?

Unfortunately we haven't a striker worthy of the name. Our front 3 have never been prolific...Madine 1 goal every 4+ games, Yates 1 goal every 4+ games, Hamilton 1 goal every 8 games.

What I do find frustrating is, with little time left, the players still go through the motions of methodically playing it back along the back four to search out another angle when it should be, 'hey lads, hey!' and an all out assault on their goal.

I don't get it either. I know it's all about WUM ... but unnecessary all the same.

We are ALL pool fans and want the same thing.

I don’t think it’s wanting the team to fail. I think some are just a bit more realistic of where we are and the mountain we now have to climb to property compete in this division with a novice at the helm who hasn’t and still hasn’t convinced a fair number of fans. The ‘patient’ fans do seem to be coming across as a bit overly defensive. For patience you could easily just substitute blind faith.

Agree with all that mate, Williams offered much better protection to the defence.

Missed Garbutt’s delivery on set pieces as ours were poor throughout & not sure about not making any changes last 10-15...

Kemp loan is a weird one? Bez? Nowhere to be seen last two games? When attacking changes are needed. I get today more than last week.

New signings to come in and hopefully start bedding in. Onwards and upwards.

Where we are is 1 individual error brain fart and a 10 minute implosion against the team currently sitting 3rd in the league away from mid table.

Would everyone be so suicidal if we were 12th?
Would that not be good enough?

7th? 3rd? Top?

The realism of where we are now typifies the changes made and currently being implemented. For those with a pragmatic view on this blind faith does not come into it!
I’d be worried wandering around some off here with axes in hand

the points return as against the possession stats show us where we are. 5th bottom.

Correct. But the fine lines between 5th from bottom and 7th are there for all to see.
Which is why some fans calling for Critch's head is ludicrous.
I'd prefer to buy in to what the entire club is now on board with than trying to see everything in a negative light and hoping we fail.

There’s room for doubt without having to constantly say you aren’t calling for the managers head and that you want your team to succeed. It is very polarised on here where posters constantly try to pigeonhole honest opinions as those of either the Grim Reaper or Walter Mitty!! Coach Critchley needs to do a lot more to win me over but I’m open minded as to whether he can do it.

I will state with certainty that if he does get us firing the team won’t have the current two centre backs nor Williams in it and it won’t be playing Ward in midfield.

Ekpetita will be there and Williams has to lose the shirt now. I think Ward will be on the bench, it's so difficult to know as we have so many players who can claim a place in the starting XI. very difficult to know what our settled team will be. Even Yates and CJ aren't certs, not when you have Woodburn, Kaikai, Luballa and Ward who can all play there.

He's not exactly a novice.

He's been a coach since 2013. Up until 7 months ago with the current premier league champions.

I'm glad that the person picking the team hasn't got such a blinkered view of who he will be picking regardless of the performances they put in.

Of course there is room for doubt. I just think it's reasonable to give Critchley some space and time to adjust to senior, League One football. He's learning. I'm happy to give him and the players some time.

I sincerely think that players have never been told their roles, sorta, you play there coz you do and he'll play there coz he's not you and can do a job.

Players seen to be average, or below, probably are better that we've seen up to now. That's what a manger does, he sorts and plays round pegs in round holes with on field connections to other round pegs.
