Well that was a wretched, 3 legged bastard of a performance!

Like watching a knackered old greyhound have one final go at catching that damned elusive hare. When, in reality, he knew he would never catch it and should have been humanely put down a couple of weeks ago.
Of course I'm not suggesting that Critch should be quite so brutal in his treatment of his battered troops but he and they need to dig deep and find something from somewhere.
He suggested that 'Pool had a,' slow start' to the game tonight. They certainly did.. For about 75 minutes! Of course this is often described as patient build up when in reality it's the dreadful back four and keeper pissy passy pentagon thing.
However, we re not really worse off. The players will be brewing and stewing on how to turn over the not very mighty Shrews after they've brewed n stewed over how to pass forward, not hit first defenders and generally rediscover how simple the beautiful game actually is.
I hope they sleep well, wake refreshed, have fun at training and are raring to go on Saturday now that they've got this silly little defeat out of their system

May I say I love this post 👍
The "dreadful back four and keeper pissy passy pentagon thing" is now firmly locked in the lexicon of AVFTTery 🤣

Eight matches unbeaten from here on in and away we go.

Critchley is from the Mourinho school of boring tactics. We are 5th but how often have we been truly entertained?
Very happy to post you a brick should you struggle to find one that hasn't already been commandeered by someone else for exactly that spleen venting purpose

Well said sir. Let us squish those shrill squeaking, insignificant feeble Shrews beneath our mighty, superior tangerine soled Seasider boots!Onward to victory comrades✌️

Brilliant.

In our own half we re-wrote the book tonight. Amazing inter-passing between the back 4 and the midfield. It was spectacular possession football even from the opposition corners to make beautiful passages of possession all the way back to Maxwell for absolutely no reason nor purpose. 😆

Critchball confounding the philestines of route one or indeed (to quote his Chizzness) "the long diagonal"..... "across the mix".

Imagine it for a moment played out upon the green sward of Wembley on 30th May, bedazzling the opposition. Look into the light! 💥

My mistake. That said I'm sure they ll be enough bricks to go around. Bricks for thickies like me, bricks for brainies like you.. Everyone's a winner
Where were the bricks in the Accrington match?

Missed a trick there. Or should I say, brick?

It's a slow news day in football so I'm just giving the "dreadful back four and keeper pissy passy pentagon thing" a well deserved bump ⛱👍

Beautifully done sir. Your first touch was sublime and your distribution excellent.
Oh for that to be the case all across the pitch on Saturday

I do think fatigue is setting in but also a certain amount of invincibility.
The players needed that reminder that they aren't invincible before a possible venture into the play-offs where wins really do count. A defeat might just keep some players grounded.
Don't you love it though when all those miserable fcukers become prolific posters after a defeat.
You get one begrudging complimentary post after the Sunderland victory and several hundred after the first defeat in sixteen.
I can never understand the mentality of supporting a football team that you very rarely have a good word for.
Why bother?
