What a massive difference in BFC from pre season 2 years ago

Two years ago we had no new signings to shout about. No structured dialogue meetings to be interested in. Half the amount of people renewing season tickets which is remarkable really during a pandemic and no confidence in a manager who certainly wouldn’t have been able to bring a team like Liverpool here for a friendly. Not a bad time to be a Blackpool fan for once is it? 😀
 
Long time, no see Angel, hope you’re well mate? Suppose we did have a big court case to look forward to....... am pretty confident the next one will go the same way 😀

Back to the o/p, I was thinking about this just the other day. Even compare and contrast to last season:

Buy anyone available -> Transfer Strategy
Missing out on players -> Beating other Clubs’
Square Pegs/Round holes (unbalanced) -> 2 players for each position (balanced)
Happy to take the money -> Here for the NC vision
Not ready for season -> Up for it right now
Lump it -> Pass & move
Wingers afraid to cross halfway -> Wingers bombing forward
Defend in depth -> High line
Let them have it -> Constant pressing
1 big fella up front -> Mobile, smaller forwards
No confidence -> The Barca of LG1
Defend 1 goal -> We will score 1 more than you


Whilst there’s no guarantee of promotion this season (I think we will go up though), it’s already looking like potentially the most exciting season since Ollie’s first two years and we are sure to give it a damn good try.

It would be great to go up (any way), however I'm just looking forward to a reasonable/good season.
Promotion would be a massive bonus, UTMP.

Something not quite right with that. I can't quite remember the incident, but KO may have been the one leading the charge for The Greedy Train- in the end it was just a D-Ream. Of course he may not have been. Thankfully things did only get better.

Seriously, greed was probably a competition between those two.

Yeap I was there when we couldn't fill the bench, my first argument with fellow fans as I dare slag the oystons... after the same happened at udders away I didn't go back to home coming

How things have changed.. brilliant times ahead fellow fans

I was the same, those two games I got called all the names under the sun, at Forest I nearly called it a day in terms of organising protests etc, fortunately Tim calmed me down and told me to ignore them and carry on, a great bit of advice from Timmy ten scarves. I also remember telling Forest fans to put their houses on us to win and none of them would bet on a Forest win because we were their bogey team 😆

I think when you’ve had four decades of luck, wealth and business shenanigans you start to believe you are invincible and above the law.
Certainly caught up with them in the end. What did they really expect Valeri to do? He wasn’t the sort to sit back and take it. They met their match, and some! Turned out one big knockout was enough.
 
I think there are better comparisons to be made from 4 and 5 years ago. The 8 player Riga summer and the McDonald hands Ferguson arm band summer were surely this club's low spots!
