What did you think when Kai Kai stepped up to take that pen ?

When I saw it was him I thought oh no not him I would have bet my house he was going to miss it and when it came back off the post the remote nearly went through the telly as I thought that was it. Especially as the guy taking the next pen despatched one in normal time.

I do unfortunately have a downer on Kai Kai I think he’s been pretty poor. Hopefully he will come good.

I thought, "no, not Kaikai, he'll miss!" However, it was a fag paper away from nestling in the corner. Shame, his bruised confidence won't have been helped.

I just love it when lots of “pundits” come on here after the event and say they knew that something would happen before it actually did.
I think you “experts” should share your gift for seeing into the future by posting on here “before” anything has happened then when can have a bet and earn a few quid.

I thought he was going to score it if I'm honest.

I was hoping as well (not just for obvious reasons), if he is down on confidence at the minute due to poor performances I bet that didn't help. Scoring the winning penalty may have given him some fire in his belly!

Wasn't in the slightest bit concerned, I was absolutely convinced that they would not score from their next penalty kick .

TBH I just held my breath as I probably would have done whoever was taking it, deflated I didn't realise we'd won straight away after Maxwell's save as I was still reeling after the post was rattled. It seemed an age to sink in although in reality probably a second. I've got previous for losing count in penalty shoot outs, as I thought we'd won against Scunthorpe in the1992 play off final only to realise they still had a pen to take, they missed & my second cheer wasn't quite as emphatic (just in case I got it wrong again) 😬 😆

I thought that if he missed then some idiot woul post A thread on it and a load of so called Blackpool supporters would line up to have a moan about as is the fine tradition of this board and guess what? I wasn’t disappointed.

Penalty sent the keeper the wrong way and was inches from going in the corner, under lots of pressure. Oh and when he came on, he and Virtue were a real threat, but I know some of you need to latch onto a player to blame. It ever was.

It was still a poor penalty..if he backed both red and black on a roulette wheel at the moment it would come up 0...hopelessly out of form...to be fair to the lad he had the balls to step up and take one and some out there didnt
It wasn’t a bad penalty, it was four inches to far to the left, that’s all . If it had gone in, you lot would all be hailing a magnificent penalty , a perfect Pen !

Didn't watch them after the first - so didn't even know who had taken them until my boys calmed down and went through the saga.

Penalties are what they are; if you were a WBA supporter what would you be thinking about theirs? From what I've seen, I'd be asking questions about the desire of the players to get through to the next round. Most of theirs were comfortably saveable - right height, close to centre etc; at least Kaikai tried to stick it in the corner.

Sorry but if you miss the target its a poor penalty...I should know I have missed one at Bloomfield road

Me too totally lost confidence.

Its like sad fcuk middle aged men need a scapegoat football player to take their anger out on

So far this season we have had Williams, Sarkic, Lubala, Turton, Husband, Yates, CJ and Maxwell

Kaikai is just the latest target

I thought that Madines' Pen was terrific.
If the keeper had got his body behind it I think he would have finished in the back of the net./
Tremendous power.

Exactly. Their last penalty taker approached the ball like a prancing show pony from such an angle that he was only ever going to put it to the side he did. All style and no substance.

Then turning round and mouthing ** at the keeper got him extra kudos.

And you've had Critchley!

Anyone can miss a penalty I've no problem with that, but it's a perfectly valid emotion to be frustrated, angry, sad and everything else that goes with it when he missed.
As for Kaikai in general, I don't think there's too much unjust criticism. His performances have been generally poor. I think a problem for the fans is that we've all seen and know how good he can be and so we always want more from him. We know how good he can be. An on form Kaikai is probably the most talented player on our books. But it's really not wrong for stating we need to start seeing it on a more consistent basis.

I expected him to score to be honest . He has got great technical ability. To be fair its fine margins . It hit the post. We cant crucify him for that miss. FA cup Prem opposition pressure.

Exactly, although I wanted to crucify him at the time. 😄

Maybe just maybe Critchley is the reason that so many of our attacking players look so poor

Kaikai for example has been playing left midfield with a starting position in his own half

Is that really going to get the best out of him

Nobody has played well consistently on the left

Btw on Saturday against West Brom he did well when he came on and was further forward

Yep, all valid stuff. Think we've said it all before. Kaikai is a player that doesn't need any defensive responsibilities. And I think we've agreed his best position isn't out wide. But all that said, he does have to show more than he is doing although as you say he looked good when he came on last saturday..

I think he looked down on the dumps, carrying the world on his shoulders and totally lacking confidence in the way he held himself.
