And keep it clean……or actually don’t if you don’t want to.

My two, about a year ago, decided to ditch mum and start calling me Karen ( which is my name by the way, not a veiled insult). It started as a wind up but now it’s stuck.

Not sure how I feel about it to be honest.

Last week after they’d been to the Foals concert I got woken up by someone rather drunk and kebab laden shouting ‘Karen’ from the front garden. My youngest, sans key. All seems a bit odd to me.

What do your kids call you ?

I still get mummy on birthday cards though 😆

One of my twin boys, who are 50 next month calls me pops, the other twin and my two girls call me dad, at least to my face 🥴

If they keep that up you should start calling them:
Kid 1
Kid 2
😂

Kids call me dad, although my daughter can make it a four syllable word when she wants something.

Grandkids call me Bo-bo, god knows where the eldest one got that from, but it stuck so younger one followed suit.

You'll be able to fix this won't you or Dad. Same for grandkids but Grandad. I'll have to stop repairing stuff & wreck a few things. 🙄

Princess 1 (17 years old) calls me daddy
Princess 2 (15 years old) calls me dad and has me in her phone as Dad 💕 whilst she calls her mum by her name and also has her registered as "Louise" on her phone, mother is not resentful at all......
Son ( 25 years old) calls me dad even though i never sired him.

The thought of your daughter standing in the garden calling your name really made me laugh! There were so many times over the years that I could hear a prolonged fumbling at the door in the early hours, only to be confronted by a drunken son trying to get in using his debit card as a key!! In winter I’d worry that I’d find him in the morning, frozen stiff, clutching said card…

My oldest calls me mum or muuum if he wants something/isn’t well or has a hangover.
My younger son is a different beast and tries to wind me up as often as possible to make me laugh. It could be “woman” with a clap of his hands) or “dishwasher!’ and I’m sorry about this, but he has been known to mouth “Karen” at me if he overhears me complaining about something 😟. In response I call him a little bastard even though he’s much taller than me…

Remember crossing the divide & cheekily called my mum Dot whilst in my late teens Lala. It stuck & she didn't seem to mind. Mine call me Master, Sir or God. I'm a hard taskmaster 😏 as if.

My daughter calls me 'Dad' (Daddy when she wants something 😉 ). (Son-in-Law calls me Dave).
My Grandsons call me Grandad.
My Great Grandsons call me Grandad.

Sir, or wondrous father when after a treat or some such, oh and Christmas Day, when I also allow mother to call me by my first name.

I've got a relatively unusual first name, so TSSJr2 (daughter) told all her new friends at secondary school my name was "Chris" - loads of her friends only knew me as Chris for a few years as I never corrected them. A few people asked if it upset me and honestly, it didn't.

It's now a bit of a joke, so if we are out together and I'm asked at say Starbucks for my name I'll give it as - "Chris".

It makes her laugh still, which is lovely.

My kids at various stages have called me dad and also by my actual first name. At the moment I'm dad.

I do think it's interesting that MrsTSS gets called "mam" by each of them, even though we (and other members of the family) only ever refer to her as "mum" - gives an idea of the influence of social norms when growing up.

FWIW, when the time comes, will absolutely not allow them to call me "Granda" which is what they say here in Hartlepool. I've no idea why, but it makes my skin crawl, every time I hear it.

If you think you will have a say in what they call you, you re kidding yourself 😂
Signed
Gramps 😂

Daddy - and she is a proper little Daddy’s girl as I have spent much of her life working away from home in the military so I spoil her rotten and she knows how to put me round her little finger - and I’m fine with that 😍(not sure my wife is sometimes but her dad was military too so I think she gets it - like mother like daughter 🤣)

I think you should all consider stopping thier pocket money if they continue to give you cheek. Assuming , that is, pocket money is even a thing these days? 😗😂

Lala,
That’s an unusual name for your youngest🤔

Cute! I used to call my grandma ‘gummy’ when her false teeth fell down.. I feel really guilty now! 😀
Not as guilty as I feel 😳... my grandma had rheumatoid arthritis in her final years...bless her ... when trying to sit down she would lower herself, using the chair arms for support until her frail limbs gave way and gravity took over.... brilliant for us grandkids who regularly deployed the whoopy cushion... to be fair she also found it hilarious 😂
