What football team do you hate that isn't a derby?

There will be some obvious contenders I imagine.

For myself it is Celtic. Grandad was a 'Ger so I suppose that contributes somewhat.

Well Preston and Bolton are local derbies with history. Aside from them I have a dislike for Man U. Mainly as growing up there were so many plastics in Blackpool who wore their shirts cos they were winning everything but they didn't go games. Just annoyed me. They also used to rib me for supporting Blackpool. I knew I was the morally correvt one though

Most Prem sides, I find their supporters arrogant and entitled. Would take great pleasure in beating any of them where I normally couldn’t give a stuff about them.

Exactly same as you mate but substitute Man U for Liverpool

Yep West Ham, particulalrly after a West Ham supporting member of my sales team came to a meeting after the play off final wearing a West Ham scarf.

It got burnt.

Hate is pretty much a strong word, I’d never go as far as hating anyone...but never really liked Hartlepool....horrible run down ground. ( Although , as fans, their fancy dress away days were a highlight....the smurfs fancy dress on tour was memorable )
However.....On the flip side, there’s one club I used to love going to on away days and would dearly love a return to York City.

From way back Norwich. Beat us in the League Cup semi-final , the following year knocked us out of the FA cup
and the following season the League Cup. All this when we were in the first division and they were second. More recently that 5 0
home thrashing in the League Cup. Oh and Jimmy Armfield got his only booking against them.

It's a sort of a derby but I hate Wigan with an unbridled dislike. I grew up in Wigan and took endless mocking from plastic Mancs and Scousers for not only watching the mighty but also going to watch Wigan when we were away with my mate who used to sometimes come to chez Bloomfield with me.

The self same plastics all turned into 'Latic Fanatics' when Dave Whelan bought them and started chucking money at 'plucky little Wigan' + he almost killed me in his Bentley once when I was on my bike.

My personal animosity towards Wigan outstrips any other side.

I think 'hate' is too strong a word in this context. However, I have an intense dislike for Spurs & West Ham.
Also. for personal reasons I don't like ManU.

Actually also Newcastle. Mainly due t9 the fans. They think they are far bigger than they are (Sunderland the bigger club imo) and you get the sense that they have a feeling of entitlement of trophies as well.

Was Liverpool due to so many plastic Liverpool fans in Blackpool during the 70s - 80s when I was at school - Bunch of Wankers. True Liverpool fans - or those at Anfield when we won were magnificent absolute class.

Nowadays - murderers and franchise MK

Hate? None.

Hate is a word far too liberally bandied about nowadays, usually for dramatic effect.

It's only football for goodness sakes.

Hate should be reserved for something truly deserving of such a negative emotion.

Good answer 66 - but what about Celtic ?

You are right, hatred is not a nice trait.
I used to be Celtic-mad as a boy because they were one of Europe's top teams and I loved the kit. Nowadays I find it a crying shame the number of people who attach themselves to the Old Firm simply to carry on the sectarian war by proxy.

I think people maybe taking the term "hate" too seriously. I didn't expect anyone to have a genuine burning hatred for another club which occupies your every thought. A bit of fun in describing what teams you dislike which aren't considered a traditional Derby

I also never understood why fans of other teams get abused for simply following another team. The way I see it, they are the same as us. They are supporting their local side, just like we are. They just happen to have been born in a different town.

I think that often football rivalry is exaggerated to the point of being manufactured, in order to give some people an excuse to vent their non-football related frustrations on something other than the actual source of those frustrations (unsatisfying job, unhappy marriage, whatever).

I love football and BFC but I cringe at what some of our fans sometimes say. That's to be expected though. Football has universal appeal and as a result you end up socialising with people who you might normally avoid. It's healthy for us to come out of our respective social bubbles periodically, but it is of course not without its frustrations.

Only a small percentage are anything worse than "90 minute bigots" 66.

It's all good fun.

West Ham are truly deserving of the word hate, rotten to the core from the board down to the fans.

Westham

I took my little lad to Wembley groups of fans offering me out in front of my 7 yr old . Spat on cups of wee thrown from tier above on pool fans . Thousands in our end and security did nothing. I would love to see them relegated and struggle in championship lose millions amd

There scum disgusting I hope they get relegated they see serve everything they get

I'd like West Ham to go the way of Bury.

The whole 'won the world Cup', the West Ham way and sense of entitlement is nauseating.

Have a really irrational hatred of Luton Town - haven't a clue why but I really detest them! In fact it's been about the only good thing about this season!
