What Oxford Fans are saying pre-match

"Blackpool have won 3 and drawn 3 of their last 6 matches, goals for 7, against 2. Not going to be easy but we should be able to beat them."

"The only decent sides they have beaten during their recent run of form are Pompey and Charlton. Other than that, they have had an easier run of games when you compare their last 8 to ours. Admittedly, we have been off the boil in recent weeks but after last night, I think we will have enough to beat them."

"This game looks a likely draw to me. They are in and around us with games in hand and are one (of many) that are well placed for a late play-off push. We need some momentum built though, and a win here would be a huge step forward, especially after putting Doncaster to the sword in the week. It won’t be easy, but we have to go for the win. 1-1 then"

"Bit of a different proposition in style to Donny, Blackpool look like they play a defensive 442 with 2 DM`s, 4 consecutive home draws and 3 consecutive away wins translates as a team that is happier out of possesion preffering to let the opposition have the ball, in other words they are pretty handy at parking the bus."

Oxford is a right mix. Some proper rough estates and always had a certain element of support. Shoulder to shoulder with the privileged.

I do remember coming back from Bournemouth away after a particular individual had thought it was a great idea to turn it into his stag do as well. I pulled a car load up at Balliol college to pick up my lad. A poster from here was worse for wear and the college was introduced to a stone island wearer puking up in the college entrance on a Sunday morning 😀

Lived and worked there for four years and loved the place for its uniqueness. There is a constant Town v Gown battle with the true Oxfordians in East and South Oxford on one side (Cowley and Blackbird Leys) and the 'academics' in North and West of the city (Summertown). You can tell the former as they have an Ian Holloway type accent 😆 while the newer residents are more cosmopolitan. Comparing Oxford with Blackpool is like chalk and cheese and for me both are great in their own way.

It's like Cambridge in that there is a real tension between town and gown, and the town parts are really surprisingly rough.

I bet they wished we had just packed out our defence. If we’d have scored 6 it wouldn’t have been a shock.
They put some nice moves together but if we’d have taken our half chances the vidi printer would have had to have brackets after the score........ (eleven I reckon?)

You need to get up to date Roberto old boy. It may have been like that back in the 60's when Cambridge was in Black and white but it is an extraordinarily wealthy area just about everywhere now don't ya know? It's in glorious 8k, full colour, dolbyatmos vision in 2021. Not just the dusty old academics in their gowns, it's all tech, medicine, research, bio-medicine and booming.

Get that bowler hat and removable collar off, change the pocket watch and the snuff box and get with the times you grizzly old Ludite!! 🤣 🤣

"Blackpool are a good bet to go up. We huffed and puffed and on another day maybe could have got a point ? We definitely miss McGuane but they have got four of him in there team."

"Blackpool the better side. Wouldn't be surprised if they nick one of the playoff spots come the final day."

"Thought we lacked energy for long periods but Blackpool did a good job on us and it looked like they had more players on the pitch than us!"

"We never looked like scoring against what you have to say was a very good Blackpool side."

What annoys me is when pillocks on here quote “We cannot beat lower table sides”

Well look at yesterday’s results. A disputed 93rd minute penalty rescued a point for Peterborough at bottom side Rochdale. Hull struggled at Shrewsbury and high flying Oxford were beaten against mid table Blackpool!

I wonder what they are saying now.
