Done to death on the other board but thought it would be a good ice breaker on here. So the article below is from 12th January 2011, the day we beat Liverpool 2-1 at Bloomfield Road. Blackpool 9th in the table and 7 points off the drop with a game, if not two games, in hand on most of the sides around and above them. Some were even saying maybe a cheeky last push for 5th place. I think most of us thought we'd be safe and I doubt few would think we'd only get another 11 points from the remaining 18 games.
5 defeats and a draw on the bounce followed but the 3-1 win against Spurs really encouraged me. Strangely I think it was the last minute equaliser at Blackburn when I started to question us and after that we only beat Bolton when it was all too little, too late.
It is now the stuff of folklore and legend and even though it's been done to death, I still like talking about it, so what went wrong after that 2-1 win to Liverpool?
