When was the last time the season was over after 27 games?

I said at the start of the season we would finish 8th so didn't expect to go up. But I didn't expect the season to over on Feb 1st either.

We need 8-10 points to stay up, which we will do.

We need 36 points from 17 games to potentially scrape a PO position. That is 2.11 points per game, basically title winning form.

I would like all loanees who we will not be signing permanently to return and lets start blooding our permanent players and youngsters.

I remember a Hendry season which just never seemed to end and flat lined not long after Christmas. Think that was the first time in many years (including some of the dark days of the 80's and 90's) where I just stopped going!

It's not over yet. I remember the Bowyer promotion season (and no I didn't go) but in Jan and Feb we won just one game 😉

The end to any season can often be the platform to the next - with the fixtures we have in February, we should still be looking to be Top half by the end of the season. Remember one year under Megson we had a very late run and just missed out.

I agree incredible, that's why I'd rather prepare now for next season rather than develop players who are not going to be here.

Difference in the megson season was we were always a good team, (was the season after allardyce) so it wasn't a surprise. This season to reach the play offs we have to show similar form to Liverpool!!
