When was the last time we poached another manager?

Honestly can’t remember!!

Most of the talk surrounding the next appointment involves managers currently out of work- who’s to say we won’t approach someone currently in a job. SS certainly has ambition may not just be looking at managers without a club..

Anyone realistic (excluding Evo)? Matt Taylor (Exeter) or Wellens?

After all the poaching recipes for Jane you might be on to something.

I can only think Appleton was on a month-by-month basis (if poached), because Oyston would very rarely pay for a player or manager if it meant he would have to pay off their contract at their former clubs.
Nearly every player & manager signature, especially in those last few years, seemed to be someone either out of contract, or on loan.
Basically free signings.

Think it would be a good move.

not sure Plymouth will actually grant the request. They’ll be desperate to hang on to him and could demand a pretty penny.

I'm not sure he would leave Plymouth for us. Likely to be in the same division next season, and Plymouth is a good club. Maybe, money and Sadler ambition might tempt him.

"Lowe's managerial style has interested and been complimented by Jürgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola, Rafa Benítez and Lowe's long-time friend Steven Gerrard, among others. He is attack-minded, and Bury in 2018-19 were one of the Football League's highest-scoring teams; their style, described as "gung-ho", soon brought success as the club finished second in League Two and earned promotion back to League One. Lowe explained in an interview with The Guardian that he wanted to instil a "winning philosophy" and that, by outscoring their opponents, Bury would have a greater chance of achieving that goal. The on-field strategy is effectively a 3-1-4-2 formation."

Be happy with Lowe. Great win percentage wherever he has been (albeit in lower league) and would probably welcome a return to the North West after being stuck down in Plymouth...
