Where are the doom and gloom merchants now?

How often have we seen it, were not good enough, we're going down, his team is crap, and so on?

Well, we have now played 27 games and secured 36 points, which if we continue at this rate will end up with us amassing 61 points, not too bad for a first season in the Championship.

But, just imagine if the absolute worst happened and we lost every game from now till the end of the season, how would those presently looking at relegation pass our points total?

Peterborough Played 25 for 19 points, the current total at this rate for the season therefore 35 points.

Derby P 27, points 35 (with 21 deduction 14), current total at this rate therefore 40 points.

Barnsley P 25, points 14, the current total at this rate for the season therefore 24 points.

Reading P 27, points 27, (with 5 point deduction 22), the current total at this rate for the season therefore 41points

Cardiff P 26, points 23, the current total at this rate for the season therefore 41 points.

Yes, it's still possible but I wouldn't bet on it, there is one hell of a lot of catching up to do from those teams languishing in the bottom 5.

Come on you Pool.

Great post

I did a couple of tables earlier this week. The first is points-per-game, accounting for the Derby and Reading deductions. The second is based on last ten games form expanded over the remaining games. Both were done last Monday, so don't include this week's results, which would make significant changes too the form table. Which goes to show it's all bollocks really Oh, and I know only three teams go down, my bad...

Where are all the ones who were saying Sterling isn’t good enough for this level despite him a week earlier having a bloody good game against Hull.

Wilf good op but do you not think supporters have the right to criticise if the team play badly or lose?

It's ironic that after yesterday's victory you've got some on here saying that a push for the playoffs is back on.

On your analysis you can be positive and upbeat as a Pool supporter but just stay quiet if they lose🤷‍♂️

I personally don't think we'll get relegated or push for the playoffs bit I will praise when things go well and criticise when not so.

I think we'll get beat 3-1 against Fulham next week but if they give their all that is all I ask of my team. If they just roll over then I'll be on here telling you so.

Just because some criticise doesn't make them any worse or better than others who just think that you only have to give praise 100%

Football is an emotive game. No issue with people having a moan.

Hate "holier than thou" OP titles like this. It's only a game of football. If someone feels better after a good rant then good. Whilst some people are happy to clap their hands regardless - some like to comment on what they watched. It's always been this way.

Welsh Phil is still too busy compiling his Nobbers away day priority list for SS.
Not sure he managed to get in the ground. Saw him outside having a conversation with the stewards about the covid passport, something that doesn't apply in Wales.

We have come an incredibly long way in such a short period of time under the stewardship of Sadler and Critchley. We need that creative midfielder that is currently being sought and hope that Carey can develop into the player we want him to be, then why cannot we certainly be a very decent championship side that everybody respects.

Football fans the world over though isn’t it😂 not unique to Blackpool. I’d wager this sight is a lot busier after a defeat than a victory? Who doesn’t love a good moan? Really please for CJ yesterday, could tell by the players reaction to the goal they were buzzing for him too👍thought some of the stuff written about him the other week went way over the top.

I saw Phil on Topping Street. Whilst I was eating my fish barm and sheltering under some scaffolding to stop the seagulls from pinching it.

As for the right to criticise, I do myself at times if I think it is warranted, but never sink to the depths of despair that some on here appear to do on a regular basis.

Criticism is fine, it's the disappearing act of some when we win that shows their true colours.

Those pesky seagulls must have followed you to the ground then CM and spent most of the time searching for you in the stands 🤣🤣

Constructive criticism is absolutely fine, CM is talking about the ultra negativity that some posters love to unleash at any available opportunity, with no balance whatsoever. And I just prefer people who are 100% positive to those who are 100% negative, personally. If I have to pick between the two.

There are some people on here who seem to delight with commenting on who to pot when we lose. They’re either WUM’s or rival fans. You shouldn’t just look at 1 result but view the bigger picture.

The last results have been a real tonic - my hands up for thinking it’s going pear shaped.

I was worried we could get dragged in - I’d like us to be playing a bit better but wouldn’t we all

I actually think its people like the OP and a few on this thread who are the negative ones

Not once has relegation even come into my thinking, why should it?

Why we have a great owner and a good squad of players with a passionate fan base

We should be looking up not down

Hence why its frustrating when we don't play well and lose winnable games

If we had beaten Huddersfield, which we should have and drawn against Middlesbrough, again which we should have, we'd have only been 1 point off the Play-Offs. We're not a million miles away from mounting a serious challenge to get out of this division.

Think there's a difference between doom/gloom merchants and those who are genuinely worriedly that injuries, below-par performances, spurious selections and questionable tactical decisions might see us lose our way.
Some of us despaired that, whilst other clubs managed to get games called off, we "did the right thing" by honouring our festive fixtures despite having a threadbare squad. That in itself is worthy of commendation on the club's part, although there were times I felt our honesty might be our downfall.
As far as selection and tactics are concerned, let's admit that many on here have been critical. I believe, however, that no matter how long and passionately we have loved this club, NC and the coaching staff are better qualified to make respective decisions and implement their plan.
I'm not as confident as some that we've already ensured Championship survival. I'm sure neither staff nor players aren't of that mindset.
I do believe, however, that we're well placed to consolidate our position and don't know how many of us thought we'd be where we are today, only a couple of years ago.
Our club and fans are no doubt envied throughout the division, despite the oft-aired criticism that we're only "a team like little, old Blackpool"
