Where did you buy your first pint?

The vaults in the original Fairhaven , quality Boddingtons . Would have been around 1968 I reckon .
Obviously a late comer….I was at Liverpool University from October 68….and was drinking in the University bars and nearby pubs then and still under age😂I wasn’t 18 until February 69.
Mind you I was in one of the County ,the Fairhaven Vaults or the Majestic most weekends as my Dad insisted I was in digs in Liverpool which were Monday to Friday as he thought I was too young to be there full time in my first year😂.At least it meant I got home for home games and Sunday League Football. He worked in Liverpool so he would run me home and back each Friday for the weekend or I would catch the coach via Preston if necessary. Was a shame in some ways as it meant I missed out on the full university life in my first year.

By the way I am sure I should know you as we lived in St.Annes from 63 onwards. Were you also a regular at the Blue Fountain…played football for them and the County..

The Lifeboat pub on Foxhall Road near Central Pier. I worked as a keyman in an Arcade nearby.
In those days, if memory serves me correctly, pubs closed at 10.30pm most nights and 10pm on a Sunday!
